    I played in a band and the drummer kept on at me for years saying I ought to check out Steely Dan as he thought I’d like them. I resisted for ages, until quite some time after that band finished. Then when I finally did check them out, I wish I’d done so sooner! Anyway, Vincent Garcia is a great player and his album is worth a listen.

    Just to clarify, it’s that root-fifth bass line in the piano that was lifted (the bit after the marimba bit). I think there is an edited version of the Dan track which omits that marimba opening; this might have been the first version I heard so in my head the Horace Silver bit was the intro. It was sometime after, when I got the remastered CD that I learned of the part that precedes that.

    The pedal needs 500mA at 12V. It could be that when the voltage is stepped up, the available current is lowered proportionally so a 500mA 9V output would then become 375mA at 12V. (That’s how it functions on my Strymon Zuma.) I’ve also seen some converters (such as the one by One Spot) that has a capped amount of current it can convert; again, this may be what happened in your case. This was mine previously and is a lovely pedal.

    Wonder if the BOD sensitivity is the same issue as with their initial VBO run - really chattery. They fixed it by adding a resistor at the input somewhere.

    For those that don’t know, this is an surverb and lush analogue phaser with 2/4/6 stages, LFO- and envelope-controlled modes. With just the pedal you have standard panel control plus two presets on the toggle switch. MIDI allows access to 122 presets and many of the underlying functions. Pedal is in outstanding condition with all packaging and paperwork. I love the sound of this thing but unemployment is forcing me to make some tough choices. These were only available in the USA due to restrictions on vactrols in Europe, but I was fortunate enough to have a friend who was able to bring this over for me.
