Thomann's mail order customer service is pretty sh*t hot - that wouldn't be as bad as it sounds!

SOLD: Pedal board for sale/trade (downsizing!)
G-bitch replied to G-bitch's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
You've completely lost me there - I suspect an email to the tech department would solve it. It is a beefy bugger - really only necessary for those running pretty big boards with some high drain effects (thanks to Akai pedals and delays, I was pulling about 1.5a at one point!) or those that are quite sensitive to power supply requirements (Akai again) or noise/interference. Like the review says, over 2 kilos. Buffer is well useful, especially if you're recording and can send a good strong dry signal in tandem with the effected signal (both via DI) and then a third out to a tuner or, separate group of fx or something equally useless! -
Do you know if the outputs of the power supply are individually isolated
It appears that they are isolated as four pairs of outputs as indicated by the 0.5a rating per pair and the switchable polarity on each pair. You're the last person I was expecting to respond - thought you'd be suitably equipped in the pedalboard department! -
Ok folks - loads of sheeeet for sale in the classifieds now!

*Edit - Power Supplly sold I still need to get some photos of this but in the meantime I thought I'd throw it up to see if anyone needs to expand their board. Here's the link: http://www.spider-engineering.co.uk/music/...sp?id=3147-2678 It's a big board, I've added a shelf onto it to make it far more functional - not terribly pretty but extremely sturdy and well placed for a 'second row' that makes the tap-dancing a shedload easier. Just a couple of holes in the base of the board to secure particularly heavy pedals and the big beefy ass power supply is screwed to it. I can leave the power supply on if you want it, including all the leads that came with it - many of which are modified by me (just splitter cables) to power more than 8 pedals and a couple of 3.5mm jack power conns. Otherwise this is for sale separately. Straight sale is possible but would prefer a trade + cash adjust for a smaller board. MTR DC8DPR Power supply is regulated and rated at two amps - big beefy transformer and 8 9v outs (switchable polarity in pairs of outputs) with each pair of outs rated at 0.5a. Link here: http://www.mtraudio.com/mtrcatalogue.htm There is also a review there - review notes a fixed power lead - not correct as this uses a standard IEC lead (maybe a later version?) which means you can unplug it without having to secure a plug inside the pedalboard case. Pedalboard price is £50 Power supply price is £45 This doesn't include postage - we'll see what arrangements can be made.

Guyatone pedals from the mini series in excellent condition, supplied with box and manual. EH bassballs is the silver version that comes in the wooden box, again all pretty much as new. Note that these have been pedalboard mounted - I will remove the velcro unless you want it left on there. None of these came with power supplies but they are all 9v DC (EH is a mini jack connection - easy just to cut off the barrel plug and solder on a replacement). MD3 - SOLD MC2 - £30 posted Bassballs - £25 posted

I dare say this needs no introduction! This is very well used (been going strong for nearly 5 years now) but has been on a pedal board the whole time and is therefore in very good condition. I have the original box and manual and I think even the power supply somewhere. For the pedal whores out there, I can put the original rubber feet back on or leave the velcro - I also presume that you are using 9v poweralls and therefore let me know if you want me to dig up the power supply! £200 posted.

I think the Deep Impact will probably go - don't want it collecting dust when I can turn it into cash. I'll probably leave it another couple of months before the pedals go up for sale as I've got some jamming lined up with my drummer before I move!

Suggestions for compact, good quality practise amp.

Thanks all - going to a few shops this weekend to try out the line 6, orange, peavey and hopefully warwick too, I'll let you know how I get on. -

I would suspect that it's the cabs that's the issue - have you ever heard a 250w amp through an Ampeg fridge? Trust me it's not about power so much as speaker cone area, although a good quality power amp section is essential - one that is really designed to deliver the peaks, GK are the tits at this. A GK400rb through an Ampeg 810 is just astonishing.

That fender looks good - the Eden/Nemesis is a tad too big/heavy. Thanks for the heads up on that, I just wish there was a shop that stocked this kind of stuff nearby. Anyone tried one of the little Warwick amps? I've played the bigger combos and thought they were pretty nice but not the little uns. Something like this: http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_blue_cab_60.htm -

Just to clarify - something that can hide behind/by a sofa, not actual band practise! Thanks for the suggestions. It suddenly occurred to me to check Markbass and they have a tiny 50w amp that needs trying out. -
Right, I dont get on with using a headphone amp - I just want to plug in and noodle without getting sweaty ears and having a cable trailing! Any suggestions on a practise amp with the following criteria: Small package (like 10" speaker maximum). Nice quality sound - able to pump a bit of volume without sounding cack (like those Ashdown 'perfect' 10's or little Peavey amps!) Controls on top would be nice but I'm already being a fussy bugger. I've mooched a few shops but small practise amps seem to just translate to cheap cack. Oh and budget probably up to £300 ish? Thanks, Graham
