1. SOLD to a mate of mine that I forgot to offer first refusal to!
2. Great little modelling practise amp with headphone output and a punchy 10" speaker in sealed box. Very light use, but a little dusty. Collection only from Bristol.
3. Cheers. Forgot to mention I'm open to offers or guidance on price if it's way out - really not up to speed on what stuff goes for and am aware that the finish makes it a bit 'marmite'!
4. Bought from the US quite a few years ago ($250!), but hardly ever used so has been in storage ever since. Hence it's mint, as new condition. Beautiful padded case, very stiff/firm so very well protected, includes padded laptop compartment in outer pocket, padded rucksack straps (genuinely very comfortable, waist strap and chest stabiliser on it), shoulder strap and nice comfy padded handle too. Collection from Bristol preferred but will entertain postage if no interest locally.

8. Oops, forgot photos
9. Well used, believe it was a studio amp for a while (pat test sticker!), powers up just fine (see lights in photo) but the odd scratchy pot last time I gave it a go. No longer have a cab to test this with so recommend bringing one along if you want to test. If it needs posting and doesn't survive, unlikely given how bombproof these are..., then I'll happily refund so that you've got a novel paperweight - how does that sound? No idea of age, 240w into 4 ohms. Bristol collection or postage at cost with preferred carrier.
10. I ordered this in around 2005 if I remember right, and to my ultimate shame it has never been gigged and has very little playing time. It’s been in a case for most of the time since then and the original G&L hardcase is obviously included in the sale, the neck has been rock solid throughout this, was always careful to find a climate neutral home for this wherever I was living rather than doing anything stupid like leaving it in a loft. In multiple house moves along the way, I’ve managed to lose the original paperwork but I’m hoping it’s fairly obviously legit given the custom options. Speaking of custom options, I believe I specified the older Vintage Narrow "C" neck, 1 ½” nut D shape style like a jazz (I’ve tiny hands), satin finish. Got the pimp-tastic red metal flake finish with matching headstock and got a nice clean maple board with no markers. Only change from the factory spec is the inclusion of Dunlop straplocks. Couple of negatives shown in photos – couple of red paint smudges on end of neck (pick up end), plus a mark on the back of the headstock just under the G string tuner, it’s in the wood under the laquer. Collection preferred from Bristol but if you’re itching and that’s too far to travel, get in touch. PM an email address for full set of photos. 11. SOLD They the super long scale version so good for extra long scale (up to ~36") 6ers. Regular light gauge .030 .045 .065 .080 .100.130.
12. Sold to Mr Beneath it All. Nice to know it's going to Wakey - I used to work there!
13. HOpeless delay - the bass is roundabout 9lbs according to my bathroom scales. Not sure how accurate that is given the relatively low weight but my kitchen scales don't quite stretch that far! The bass is still available; I'm still waiting for a PM/text reply from Beneath It All who was next to express an interest.
14. OH, and I still haven't managed to weigh it - no scales to had at the moment. Will have that sorted by about 5pm tonight I think.
15. Okay folks, and particularly Mr Jazz, I've had chance to inspect and take photos - there are a couple of bits which I'd forgotten about or not mentioned, but given the level of interest I've had and that condition is factored into the price (fairly I think), I don't really want to budge on the £650 asking; if only so I can mourn the sale with several pints and a curry with the difference between that and offers... Here's all the negatives: 1. Small headstock chip (2-3mm), on the edge rather than face so doesn't affect that nice body matched bit of quilted maple 2. Small chip in top near controlls (3-4mm), hasn't gone through the top though so it isn't really very noticeable 3. I drilled a new strap hole to improve the balance (did the trick nicely), so there's a redundant strap hole. There's also a small dent on that edge. 4. Minor scratches and tiny dents on the jack socket edge. 5. String marks on the fretboard (see photo, that's the worst of it and it's only on those bottom few frets), this is probably the worst thing about it IMO. Needs a fret dress - I was very heavy handed with this bass, but Mr Shuker would probably do that gratis as he guarantees the fret wire he uses for life. 6. The C string tuner took a knock at some point - you can see the key is poking out a few mm underneath. Amazingly, it still works perfectly, I thought I'd have to replace it when I did it. 7. Aforementioned tiny ding in back of the neck - on further inspection, it's so shallow it's barely noticeable. Anyway, see the pics I've taken. A lot of these are just your regular gigging scars and are not visible without close inspection. Only the need for the fret-dress affects playability -everything else is purely cosmetic. Other things to add: 1. EMG pre-amp thing is 18v. Probably due some fresh batteries by now. 2. That in-case gig bag is sooooo sweet, I want to crap my pants. The offer of including that for £100 is withdrawn so that, when the zombiepocalypse comes, I can abuse myself whilst stroking it in lieu of internet porn. Oh, final note before putting the pics up. This neck is solid as f*** - it's been in storage for the last year without having been played and it's still in tune, still got a lovely medium action, fantastic. Forgot just how nice this neck was to pay; highly recommended for people like me with lady hands.
16. I've just found some ancient sound clips - recorded direct into the basic sound card of my old PC, no pre, no pedal, just nekkid bass signal without any onboard EQ. Also, a full pic! Again, this is from new so does not represent current condition - will update by Sunday at the latest.
17.
Don't suppose you'd be able to quantify 'pretty heavy' would you? Thanks
I'll try to weigh it too.
18. Okay, dunetune_jazz has dibs on this but I want to get detailed photos of all the little marks etc. before I can agree a sale with a clear conscience. Will post the photos up here and let you know if it doesn't go. Thanks, Graham
19. I want to be realistic - I bought it in 2003 when Mr Shuker was still gaining a name so it wasn't as dear as they are now, plus I have to take account of some of the wear and tear plus the fact that it's pretty heavy is also a negative which ought to be reflected in the price TBH.
20. Slight test of the water - I've not been playing for a while and it's likely that when I do get back in to it, I'll be doing so on my sparkly 4 string L2000. This Shuker was a bit of an extravagant graduation gift to myself; I took delivery on 20th August 2003 but it's not exactly had heavy usage in that time. Spec, to the best of my knowledge (I'll have to check to see where I recorded all the info), is as follows: - Wenge body with quilted maple top - satin finish - Indian rosewood board, no front markers (MOP markers on side), brass nut - 35" scale neck, 5 piece maple/wenge construction with a shallow profile and narrowish string spacing at 17mm - I have small hands and wanted something along the lines of a modulus quantum 6 to make it a bit less daunting for me to play! - EMG single coils, 3 band eq with stacked bass/treble and sweepable mids (stacked control) + separate blend and vol. - Individual bridge pieces, gotoh tuners, brass nut. - Dunlop straplocks installed. It sounds suitably great thanks to the wenge body (like a Warwick thumb but with a bit more clarity in the growlyness) but one negative side of that is that it's a heavy beast, so not one for those with back troubles and ideally needs to be used with a nice wide strap. For the moment I have only the one photo taken when new; I will dig out other photos and also try to take some new ones which reflect the used condition - there are one or two dings to the headstock and the satin finish has glossed up a bit where I rest my thumb but otherwise it's still in damn good nick. I'd be looking for offers around £650 without a case; or alternatively it currently resides in a dogs testes incase gig bag which is in absolutely mint condition which I'd consider including for an extra £100. Alternatively, you can have it in a G&L hard shell case for an extra £50. Finally, if you can't be arsed to sort it yourself, I can order a proper Shuker hardshell case for it and add only £75 to the price. It's currently in storage in Birmingham, but I live in Bristol so would need a bit of advance notice to make arrangements for a test ride! Anyway, there it is, I'm not in any great hurry to sell and don't mind if it doesn't go at all but I'd rather it went to someone on here than ebay or similer (I've been of this parish a while but it's been a couple of years since I've posted. Ask ahpook for a reference!) All the best, Graham
21.
Hiya, I'm in Bristol too. Assuming you're reasonably central (I'm in Knowle) would you accept £40 cash if I collected it in person? Cheers, - martin
Martin, it's yours. PM on the way.
22. Just the Loooper left - feel free to make me an offer.
23. Mostly sold - just waiting to hear on the loooper from one person - so £5 donation made to the basschat kitty. Thanks everyone for buying and saving me from adding to ebay's modest profits.
24.
That a recent pic of the looper? Looks to be in absolutely perfect cosmetic condition, that accurate? One last q, will it take a battery as well as an adapter? Cheers mate.
Taken just the other day. It's pretty much mint - always kept on a pedalboard - despite being about 10 years old. I'm afraid it won't take a battery, although I'm sure that it would be an easy modification to make. It works fine without power, you just risk getting a little lost as the indicator lights obviously don't work!
