  1. It's bang on 4kg on the office franking machine, probably more accurate than my eBay scales!
  2. I'll have to come back to you in that Monday as it's at the office.
  3. If the collection falls through, I'm happy to give it a temporary home in Bristol at my office for a fellow BC'er to grab at a later date. I just fancy the experience of an 8x10 😉.
  4. I think everyone with G&L on a saved search knew which bass this was before opening the thread 😆 Not quite up my street aesthetically, but I remember thinking the price weren't bad for how 'exotic' it is.
  5. Made 2021, bought by someone to use as a beginner bass, but soon put away and forgotten until I picked it up early this year. It has the original strings, which desperately need changing. There are a few little handling marks here and there which I've done my best to show up on photos, but it is otherwise as close to new as I've ever found in a second hand bass. Only selling as I've got my dream bass from a friend but I've now got to pay him! Comes with a Gear for Music hardcase which is also in near mint condition. Collection from Bristol preferred. Price dropped to 275, going to say no offers just so I've an excuse to keep it if no nibbles...
  6. Open to offers/trades - I'll be travelling up to the Midlands tomorrow and London/SE in another couple of weeks if that helps.
  7. Just wanted to add some extra info on the neck following enquiry by pm: It's not mega narrow, 41mm at nut, 55mm at 12th fret. But it is quite a flat profile, I make the neck thickness 21mm between 2nd and 3rd fret with a caliper. I got comparing to my ATK - There's only a couple of mm extra on the ATK both in width at neck and thickness at the nut. The critical difference though is that the GMR barely gets any thicker up the neck - it's still only a smidge over 21mm thick at the 12th fret, the ATK is 30mm, so that contributes a lot to the slim/fast feel of the neck even if it's not a nice narrow 38mm at nut.

    Sean's Feedback

Sean just called to pick up an Ibanez ATK from me today, dead easy to arrange collection/payment, top man. Cheers, Graham
  9. On hold pending collection next weekend.
  10. Love this bass, sounds amazing, but my tiny hands just can't deal with the (fairly standard size) neck. Lots and lots of player wear and dings which I've tried to show clearly on photos, hence the price. The jazz neck pickup as a huge amount of versatility, pickup blend knob means the switch is still as per standard ATK (and stingray 5/sterling) for the humbucker for full fat punch you in the face musicman sound. Comes with original case, missing one foot and adorned with some spray motif and sticker. There's a set of flats in there spare too (it's got some fresh d'addario nickel rounds on). Collection only from Bristol, but may be able to get it to the Midlands for collection/meet up over the coming weeks.
  11. Offers welcome on this, cheaper ratty gig bag option instead of hard case available.
  12. It really is enormously versatile, like a more refined/polished version of my old G&L L2000. if finances allowed it would be a keeper, but my days of keeping a 'stable' are long gone (alongside the days of having disposable income 😁).
  13. Have just done a weigh in with my cheapo eBay luggage scales and readings averaged almost bang on 8lbs, 3.65kg.
  14. Apparently a smidge under 7lbs, but I've luggage scales on the way to check!
  15. Bought on a whim last year as a practise amp, great for small spaces due to the small footprint, sounds nice and mellow/tight as you'd expect for 10s in a sealed cab with no tweeter. Selling as my son has taken up drums, I'm still coming to terms with this, but at least we can jam. We're going the active PA speakers route to put bass and e-drums through at home seeing as I'm always going through a sansamp pedalboard anyway. I've had a search over and can't find any cosmetic damage. It will be missed, for it is IMHO, the most awesome looking practise amp (bar maybe the bigger 200w AV version...). Collection only from Bristol but happy to consider meet ups/delivery/basschatter relay if it doesn't extend any crazy distance from home.

  16. I appreciate it.. although any interest was snuffed out by the wife not liking the colours!
  17. Probably best if I link to the original owners ad from last year for the first of details: It is a lovely bass, however soon after buying it I picked up an Ibanez ATK on a whim and arrived at the conclusion that nothing short of a USA sterling or older stingray 5 (for the ceramic p/up plus switching options) will do for me. In terms of changes since I bought it, I've just raised the action and tweaked pickup height to my preference, removed glow in the dark markers from the neck and bought a hardshell case for it. It currently has Dunlop strap locks on, but will change it back to the schaller buttons it came with unless buyer wants the dunlops. The only thing I'd add as a note to condition, is the slight raised top edge of the control panel cover which I've tried to show in photos, a few little dings/marks around the jack socket, and some slight shiny spots from player wear. All in all though, looks and plays great. I'm Bristol based and would prefer pick up/meet up but I think if the case was packed out a little to stop movement internally and then boxed up, it would probably be fine to post, would just need to sort a box for it. Asking £550 collected without hard case.
  18. Do you know what year it is and whether it's got a ceramic pickup? Cheers.
  19. I tried a Q6 way back at the gallery, around 2002 perhaps. Still regret not buying that, but I was fixated on getting a custom shaker. Would love to get my hands on a flea 5 to try out, which I suspect would be more up my street now than a quantum.
  20. This thread title really sums up my feelings. I've just picked up bass again after a 15+ year hiatus and am just bewildered by the pedal market. I was a proper fx geek, rack and pedalboard, but the range of stuff around now and the prices just leave me hugely reluctant to dip my toe in those waters again in case it leads to my falling in and bankrupting myself. From having a nice range of quality pedals before, I'm now Mr cheapo with numerous clones and anything else that comes in under £50 used.
  21. Tatty, cheap and musicmanesque. Triple crown.
  22. Love it. If only I'd be forgiven.
  23. Oh man, I had a Geddy Lee jazz years ago and pondered the status neck option (sold it in a fit of GAS anyway), that is loverly, even if I'm not a none-more-black person. @ahpook is this a fender you could like?! 😉
  24. I'd be interested in trying this out to see how it sounds. I'm just getting back into playing after a long hiatus and my mate has politely refused to sell me back my old L2000 so just wondering if this might make a good alternative. Any chance you're in walking distance or a short bus ride from the station?
