1. With band playing, since that's the important bit when checking out a drummer: http://www.youtube.c...?&v=Jvir30BpDYY Edits:Bah, why does auto embed hate me?
2.
With every other weekend being free listings as well as 100 items a month starting at 99p or less, anyone paying the listing fees is a mug.
Seems to be not this weekend, they skip a weekend every now and again. Also odd random weekday, there was a free Wednesday, where I panic listed loads of stuff out of a sense of obligation to use it.
3. Did he put it though as shipping rather than collection?
4.
I'm not sure this is how ebay's procedures work. As far as I'm aware, if the bass arrives in pieces, the buyer will be able to start and most likely win a SNAD appeal. Are there examples of ebay siding with the seller in a situation like this?
If buyer arrqanges pickup, and it goes through the ebay system like that, is buyers responsibility. They collected.
5. If you do go for grease vaseline is happy, shouldn't really get it on the wood though, its ok on your skin, generally favour stuff wlike that on instruments due to handling.
6. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
7.
Wow just when I thought I was starting to get my head around all this turns out I still know nothing! Is there a dummies guide to amps and cabs? It would be very useful indeed. So really the only way to know without going down that long winded route will be just test different heads through it and see what it can cope with?
Or if sellers gave you useful information on their cabs. Maybe just deal with the ones that do. Edit: barefaced page mentioned above: http://barefacedbass.com/technical-information.htm
8.
Why? I know how to look after my cat but I still go to the vet when it's necessary.
Owner's manual and luthier familiar with the laws of physics and engineering will disagree with each other.
9.
to date, you'll be lucky to break even now.
Pretty sure it isn't luck that provides my income.

11. Watt ratings are meaningless, so its all not worth considering. Its a thermal rating, and thermal has nothing to do with sound, or the point where the cab farts out, or where it breaks. As to what the new speakers will do for you, entirely depends on the new speakers, and how they suit the box, as mentioned, the watts part means nothing useful.
12.
Download the owners manual from the RIC corporate website so you know how to take care of it, and have a qualified luthier set it up properly for you.
Two pretty contrary things right there.
13. Titebond is good general glue for guitars. Polyurethane (PU) is messy but super strong and the joint doesn't need to be super flush. If you want a small amount of hide glue, you can use powder gelatin intended for cooking, same stuff, just much more expensive weight for weight, but comes in smaller amounts, but that needs a perfect mechanical join, as it has no gap filling properties at all.
14.
Yes that really p1553d me off . Avoid member "hollygrassby" who bids and wins and never pays. She has "textual" negative feedback only. Can't neg her.
I did make an ebayers to block thread: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/181272-blocking-problem-ebayers/
15. Any clue what the wood is like? Nice thing about binding is it divides areas up to work on.
16. Scraped back and fine sanded by hand, the stain is still there, but less so, still a bit pink, got a kind of Gunter Hagens thig going on, might leave it, need to look in proper daylight. This is with some white spirit wiped over so it looks like it will oiled:
17. Far too many people scamming on the postage, it was pretty inevitable. I prefer sending my own courier, so I encounter them a lot. Generally if I work it like that I do my best to take it off ebay anyway. Really, ebay is for people who don't know what their item should be priced at.
18. Problem is no-one famous played one, and it doesn't look like a bass anyone famous played. Nice instruments, but the pickups aren't potted, which could do with sorting.
19. Just wiped some dye over it, totally shows up the palm sander marks, so another bunch of hand sanding to do.
20.
My dad has a heap of old heads gathering dust in the loft, including a couple of Sound Cities. I must pull them out and have a look. He also has a cute little thing called a Nolan. Anyone familiar with them? Looks 70s.
I had a Nolan, it was a Marshall knock off, but made with higher quality components than Marshalls, Partridge transformer, Hiwatt type head sleeve. Let me know when you pull out those amps.
21. Gibson are bad at putting bridges in the right place, their guitars suffer from it too. Also making necks that work properly. But they have gibson written on them, so people still buy.
22. Probably should try some high end valve rigs, instead of bunch of low bidder stuff to compare with a high end SS rig.
23. Your views aren't worth a damn to anyone until they know who you are to put them in context, and the only way for us to know who you are is to engage with the forum. Right now, mostly what Is ee of you is making excuses for spamming the place up, not building great respect for your position.
