1. Dubious earth path in your bass.
2. Check the radiator for a leak too.
3. Rapid turnover pickup purchase here. Seemed like no time between paying and arrival. Cheers.
4. You can tune stuff to the attack or the sustain, as the initial string movement bends it slightly sharp. With tone off, less harmonics and stuff might mean you are ptiching from a different part of the envelope, or losing the harmonics you were pitching from before.
5. The DoomHäus is my house, it replaced the House of Bass, I have loads of gear sat about since I rebuild amps and guitars and move them on. Its the hobby turning business thing since I can't get a 'real' job. It is in Easton/Greenbank, PM for details if you wanna pop down.
6.
some selling butter
Funds a PiL tour better than storming an oil rig does.
7. Plenty of gear here in the DoomHäus if you wanna play with amps and drink tea.
8. Seems that playing at certain range of tempos I pendulum one leg. Really slow I sway my whole body for time. But when I'm singing I tap my foot like someone who shouldn't be risking falling over.
9. Wiped over with some white spirit to show the grain. That or I spilt loads of white spirit whilst experiment with using it as a sanding lubricant. Not sure it didn't unglue the grit from my wet and dry block.
10. Am still bit tempted, by curiosity as much as anything. Might get just to put in mate's shop once I've had a go.
11. Could report it for being a fake Tokai.
12. Probably have some Aerodyne P pickups going shortly, think I've scored a replacement for my Wishbass.
13. A few more watts really isn't going to make an appreciable difference. Need to identify what is missing at current, and work from there. Usually it is the cab that is the limiting factor on volume, and 'lack of valves' is most cheaply remedied with hot glue and a wanted ad.
14.
Warmoth are painting mine in their solid 'Charger Green' colour.....now I'm not sure I've ever seen a bass (or even a guitar) finished in that colour, apart from the one I think I saw when I was very very young back in the late 60s....has anyone else? If so has anyone got any pics so I might see what I've let myself in for?
Dangerous Dan Devious on Uglybassplayer had a charger green Warmoth, although lots of pics went when the forum died, I found this vid of it though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ezj5zdp0Js8

SOLD!!!

What sort of thing are you looking for in a valve amp? Mate has a JCM800 going, he's been using it for bass.
16. "Tokai": http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tokai-Anniversary-COPY-Rickenbaker-4001-Bass-/170730905407?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item27c05adf3f
17. I'd be interested in that. Whereabouts are you? Depending on how much you want, I know some people who may be interested.
18. Am sat playing it now, is really nice.
19. Sold. Bought as a fixer to sling in my Mate's new music shop in Radstock, the Loft. But it will be a while before it can get to Radstock, so BCers get first dibs (second after my Facebook friends actually):
20. Problem is, when mixing cabs, that one could be much louder and handle more power than the other, and drown out the noise of the other one being upset.
21. Depends how many really. Do it as a collective, and sell them cell style. I'd be interested in that.
22. This is pushing the boundary a bit, but fairly sure of the intention: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alden-Beatbacker-through-neck-Bass-guitar-/320794264885?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item4ab0d40535
23. Some amps don't have an input transformer, just a big resistor, maybe they could make a difference there.
24.
I've tried to show the bass the best I can in the picture.
Ha. Poor effort.
