1. I've got an old Traynor Bassmaster, YBA 1,about 1972, c/w 2x15 cab which i'm 'thinking of trying to sell'. I wondered if any of you know of a site/forum that specialise's in selling what you may call 'classic equipment', i realise i'm looking at a limited market and they're not everyone's cup of tea. That said, i know these are quite popular as guitar amp. I've had a google myself but did'nt really find anything that fitted. The rig work's fine and is pretty much original. Cheer's.
 2.
Absolutely, you get the immediate attack (click) with little or no sustain. Listening to it again, I'm thinking Ricky. Here's a similar sounding bass.
At long long bloody last, one of the best pop bass line's finally gets a mention on this site, Russ Stableford, great session man from the 60's, fender & a pick. What i think of as 60's bass playing, i'm quite a fan of it. There's load's of this type of playing on all sort's of 60's records, have a listen to the Scaffold's original 'liverbird's', tho not the cover version from the T.V. show.
 3.
Agreed, Bulldog is Macca at his best! Beatles - All My Loving R.E.M - The One I Love Stranglers - Down In The Sewer The Specials - Too Much Too Young Blur - Girls And Boys
Don't bother with this type of thing as a rule, but as it's gettin late Everlasting love, Love affair. Ambition, New Model Army. Walk on by, The Stranglers. Longview, Greenday. Rain, The Beatles.
 4. Say's it all in the title of the thread for me. I've been gigging since 1981 when I was 17, using a 100 watt traynor bass master head with the matching 2 x 15 cab and a 79 blonde stingray, most recent gig, saturday night, same gear. 0ld fashioned I know (& some might say tight arse) but I love the sound & people allway's comment on how good it sounds! For the record the stingray cost £250, & the amp £100, . . . lot of money in those day's
 5.
I see you sold it !,Nice one .I hope you got what you wanted and glad it was to a very nice man not someone we dont need to mention! Did you clean it up or did they go for the mojo?
Hi Pete, I bought it off Ben yesterday, told him not to bother cleaning it up, i'll square it up over the next week, got a nut sorted already. It's actually not tooo bad close up, to be honest not as bad as my old 78 natural that i've had 30 year's, & play all the time, that one's about ready for a re-fret so the ''new one'' will come in handy.
 6. Only saw this thread last night. Jimmy Lea, the bloke hardly ever gets a mention, his basslines contribute so much to the songs, good allrounder too.
 7. This Bass ( Model No: TW-155A) is essentially brand new, bought for a project that never got off the ground. I've had it a couple of month's, got the paperwork, still in guarantee. It's got a solid spruce top and the sides and back are mahogany, there is no case though. I paid £289.00, will accept £200 ono. Delivery or collection is negotiable. I live in North Lincolnshire. PM me if interested. Cheers, Bruce
 8.
OK, after a couple of months without a band, I've got myself an audition for a tribute band this week. I have never been in a tribute band and to be fair, it's not really my cup of meat, but a gigs a gig, right? And they do get some pretty well paid gigs. The bass lines on the original bands records are to be fair, pretty simple (some might say boring) so how do I approach things? Stick to the recordings and get bored out of my brains, or embellish things a bit to show off my chops (such as they are)? I suppose I could ask the guy what they're looking for, but I don't want to sound too keen/stupid. Suggestions, much appreciated, as always! Mark.
Hi Mark, ive played in couple of tribute bands and i would say go along with an open mind & see how the other guys play the songs & take your lead from that. If they play everything absolutely spot on then they're probably lookin for you to do the same,at least in the first instance. If they ''go of on one'' then try ''a bit ''yourself. Might be some ''space'' in certain songs if they're lacking say key's or brass where you could poke your bugle in, its what i used to do. You should be able to guage how pro they are early on. We supported a who tribute band once who where calling themselves Pete, John etc whilst just setting up beforehand, well into character. Good luck with it anyway.

 13.
hi mate you have to post a price in the thread - forum rules some pics in the thread wouldn't go amiss either. good luck with the sale
Cheers for that...typical bloke didn't read the instructions first! The price is £1400 or nearest offer. Paypal facilities available if required. The case by the way is NOT original. Cheers Bruce
 14. Righthanded, 4 string, black body, black scratchplate, maple neck, volume, bass, and treble controls, all original damping gear. The body is in real good condition(especially for the year). The neck has a small bit of varnish lifted off but apart from that its all pretty tip top. It plays and sounds like you would expect.(apart from when i play it . . . ) There is a hardcase available if required. I live in North Lincs and work in the transport business so i may be able to help with delivery. Im sure you all kno what the going rate is for these bass guitars, so if your interested P. M. a contact number and i'll get back to you, send you a pic or three if you want, but it probably looks like you imagine too . . . Cheers, Bruce.
 15. Hello....this site has been recommended to me by a couple of bass playing mates as I am thinking of selling a bit of kit in the near future. I have just spent a couple of hours looking at the forum, and I must say I find it really interesting, a lot more on here than just buying or selling second hand kit! Bit about me.....been playing since 1980, influenzed by the punk & new wave scene. Started out doing original stuff but slowly or as you do drifted into doing all the usual covers and consider myself to be a straight up & down 'pub' bass player!!! My equipment consists of: a 1971 100w Traynor Bass Master complete with the 2 x 15 cab and a 1979 Musicman Stingray (this is the only gear I have ever used) though I have recently bought another '79 Stingray. Cheers, Bruce
