1. The Blowtorch is good for the killer-bees-attacking-the-man-with-the-chainsaw sound but I've not really found much else with it. It doesn't sustain enough for my liking. But it's good at what it does. I think it probably needs major fiddlage.
2.
And I really feel like doing something with it... only around £150. I like the idea of having some kind of compressor. Any good rackmounted tube compressor/preamps in this price range? The EBS Multicomp pedal has also caught my eye again.
The Multicomp is a brilliant pedal, I love it to bits. It's well worth every penny IMO. You could also buy a cello bow. If you wanted to.
3. I never anticipated outgrowing this one but I managed alright. I blame the Deep Impact/Big Muff/Whammy for stealing all the room. Anyways, I've plundered all the patch cables (yaaargh) but I can leave the daisy chain and the power adapter. Two of the holding pads are intact, one is a bit mangled but it should be alright (I can leave you the foam offcuts if you really want!). Power supply is fine, the latches are fine and overall it's in pretty good shape. Plus I gave it a hoovering. £40 Best picture I've got of it, but you probably won't need it... Usable area: 630x220
4. Gah, I'd love to take the board (typical that I missed your post on the pedalboard thread) if it's still going, I think it'd be just right for the job.

Ebow's

Ebows sound nice on bass, especially with delay (I actually found a great sound by putting it through my Discombobulator too on a slow attack setting, sounds awesome ). But they take a lot of getting used to. I have to tilt it at about thirty degrees to the side to get the strings to vibrate (I often use hammer-ons as well to get it going a little quicker). Also it gets seriously loud near the pups (but that's to be expected). Great tool if you get the hang of it though
6. I'm getting an image of a pikey trying to do a runner with a 4x10
7. I ordered my Warwick from Mansons in Exeter. They're a pretty major Warwick dealer. What are you looking to get?
8. I have absolutely no idea what that effect is but it doesn't sound like a synth as such, more like a gentle harmonising effect. I think.
9.
Quite why anyone would bother going to Sound Control in London when there's the Gallery to visit is beyond me! I don't even bother going down Denmark St as most stores are staffed by tossers (Bass Cellar anyone?) or full of hideously over-priced vintage crap. Bass centre is OK but the Gallery never fails to be anything short of superb.
Oh god, the guy in the Bass Cellar was a right tw***er. I was testing out a Streamer $$ (which I've now ordered) and the guy in the shop basically did everything without even speaking to me. Knob. I've not actually been to the Gallery as I don't venture near Camden too often but I'll go next time I'm up there.
10. Problem with SC in London is that you may as well go to Denmark St for basses simply because the stock's more comprehensive. I mean...all I ever see there are a few Spectors, one Warwick, a Musicman and a couple of Fenders. Not exactly spoiled for choice. I've been in a couple of Music shops where they've not let me try >1k basses. They pretty much told me "You'll just break it". Well...I find that pretty irritating considering I'm a Pedulla owner and I know how to take care of my basses but hey, if that's the way they want to run the business then fine, i just won't shop there.
11. I'll ditto what he says. I have a Fender Frontman as my practice amp. And my effects did sound pretty muddy and crap through it. At the time though I wasn't really thinking about getting a new amp. Until I went to practice with a friend, I put it through a half decent amp and...wow...my Big Muff was singing. Which then forced me to put an amp to the top of my priorities list. So now I'm running everything through an Ashdown ABM115-500 and it's blissful. Really works well with all my effects (apart from my Phase 90 which I might get modded). So yeah...to be honest if I were you I'd put that to the top of my list. If you were to get a decent Ashdown/Trace Elliot/GK etc. combo you won't be disappointed.
12. Well...I'm looking for one (or possibly two) last effects. Something similar to a Crowther Prunes and Custard sound but with the capacity to do regular and slightly more mellow fuzz too. I was looking at a Depth Charge...unfortunately it doesn't work with active basses apparently which it a pain in the arse. I'm quite stuck on this one though. That'll complete my rig for a while...a couple of years at least. Of course I'm always gassing for my custom bass ideas at the moment it's a birdseye maple/purple heart neck (Pedulla type neck profile), walnut body with a Macassar ebony top (or maybe buckeye burl, not decided yet), ebony fretboard, two Bartolini soapbars and an Aguilar preamp. Of course when I get it done I'm going to have to be earning money. Lots of money.
13. My Evo II combo has been running like a dream for the last year...I thought it was the MAGs which had the transformer problems but maybe it's more of a widespread thing.
14. Warwick EMPs at the moment, was using Elixirs before. Good strings.
15. Well, I was thinking to go with NSP. It's a bit more expensive but they do custom sized ones for apparently not much more (if at all) than the standard boards. I'd probably go with 80-85cm x 40cm or thereabouts. Gives me enough room. I'm guessing Diago don't do custom sizes...
16. I'm new here but I'm "acquainted" with BassManKev and Clunge... As of today all I need is a box, I'll probably go Diago (maybe a tight squeeze) or NSP. I'm looking for one more pedal to complete my rig though...I had my heart set on a Depth Charge. Unfortunately seeing as my bass is active (and my Warwick Streamer $$ on the way isn't going to help in that department unless I put it in passive mode) which I hear isn't too good with it. And now I'm surrounded by choice and too confused. Bugger. It'll probably take the place of the ODB-3 unless I find some extra room. But yeah...synthy-style fuzz but with versatility.
