2. Hi all, I have recently purchased a most excellent Korg PBX4 from a fellow BCer. This is now my default practice amp - just great. It has a bewildering array of options, one of which is called "Bonehead". It gives a lovely deep, clear bell-like should to the bass. Any ideas to what "Bonehead" refers? Other setting are "Goldplate" (Marshall) and "UKMajor" (TE) etc. Cheers Dyce
 3.
im open to offers so let me know if you have something interesting
swap for an EBS session 60? Mighty neat box - might give you a pound or two to make up the difference... Dyce
 4. Hi, This was "brand new" from a supplier in the states - about 170 + 30 p&p. Some mixed reviews on Talkbass.
 5.
I've been searching the web and the forums for any hands on info about this little head unit, wondering if anybody has any personal experince with one or heard anything about it? Was planning to combine it with a Aguilar GS112, would this work out well? Any advice would be appreciated. Sorry i'm all very new to this. Cheers
Just seen the same head on ebay for not very much it seems. Does anyone know what these head are like?
 6. BC I have a Roland Micro cube Bass RX http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/...RX-Bass-Amp/8MO (its got a video too) It's about 2 years old, excellent condition - (never been gigged ) a couple of scratches on the plastic corners on the bottom, but otherwise is new condition. It has sat in my (smoke free) house for all but 2 occasions where I took it to a pals house. I must say, that having looked and prodded at other practice combos at the local music shop (Ampeg/Harke/Line 6), the quality of the build on this Roland seems very high. Totally silent too - no hiss or hum at standard working volumes. I have found in a superb practice amp. Lots of connectivity, a drum machine, tuner, effects and it goes loud enough to be heard over the kids shouting. Would anyone here be interested. If not I can sell it on a work forum, but I'd thought I'd see if anyone here might want it first. New, it goes for £154 - 179 on the interweb. I bought it for about £155. I haven't seen any advertised 2nd hand so don't have a clear idea on price. I was thinking that £80-90 might right? Posting via Interparcel (UPS) might add another tenner. Feedback would be welcome. Cheers Dyce

 8. Thanks guys - I just hate that orange/yellow on the MB stuff - looks like a Tonka Toy (but not as good).
 9.
Well someone had to do it!
But to rag this back to reality.... are there any cheap lightweight options around - I hear a lot about MB and GB but for us mere mortals who have a couple of hundred max to spend on a top box, what would the recommendations be - Ashdown Little Giant 300? something similar?
 10.
Apologies for the quality of the pics but I only have access to a very poor quality camera on my phone at present.
Is that anti-climb paint that's on those bad boys? DIY or does that come standard? Nice cabs tho' fancy a midget myself.
 11.
Sounds good. I guess is has a normal clicky metronome too?
- should read previous posts! PM'd
 12.
I've used it quite a bit, the number and variations of patterns is quite large and usable, and it sounds like entry-level electronic drumkit. I found it quite useful to practice timing on certain riffs or phrases
Sounds good. I guess is has a normal clicky metronome too?
 13. Hi Have you ever used the rhythm part of this box - if so, what does it sound like - drum, click or beep! Cheers
 14.
Looking for a nice loud portable amp to either amplify an electric bass or give a bit of a boost to an upright in an mic'd acoustic situation. Looked at the Bass Cube, and it looks good but people say it isn't very loud? Another option is to get a more powerful combo and then get some kind of power solution, if anyone has any other ideas don't hesitate to suggest them. Thanks guys
Hi - I have a Roland Mirco cube. I really like this little amp - really solidly put together (far superior in build quality to other practice amps I've seen - cheap Hartke, Line 6 etc). It has al manner of different effects, a drum machine, inputs for cds, headphones and another aux in. It is loud enough to hear over a quite loudly played cd and I can play along with my pal who plays the flute. It gets a bit fuzzy once the dials go past 12 noon and would not complete with an amplified guitar, but could easily compete with an acoustic. Batteries go in the back, but I have always used the mains adapter. I'm interested in selling - about 2 years old, perfect condition, never been gigged fdavidso
 15.
There is no way of knowing how a built cab would integrate with the combo though, and you'd have to be careful with impedance matching when buying the speakers to go in it. It's tempting though. Snicks.
Hiya, Yes - I can imagine 9 months of slogging in the shed to plug in and the whole lot goes up like a pantomime genie... Thanks for the links Snicks. I'll read with interest.
 16.
Hi guys - since moving to France I've sold a bass to a local French guy and and he has asked me to help him learn. Between his broken English and my bloody awful French I want to make this as easy for him as I can. I'm looking for suggestions of DVD's and/or books to help him that would be ideal for a beginner. PS - France is bollocks and I want to move home asap
Two books have been enormously helpful to me: Adrian Ashton's http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bass-Handbook-Comp...r/dp/0879308729 and Ed Frieland's http://www.amazon.co.uk/Building-Walking-B...mp;sr=1-1-fkmr0 Both with cds to plonk along to. First one picks everything apart, the second speeds along but starts from the beginning. Using both in combination has helped me go from useless to just pathetic So any half -musical person will make rapid headway
 17.
You're right - you need another 8 Ohm cab in parallel. Providing both cabs are the same impedence, then they will both get the same power i.e. 250W split between both - 125W each, so get a cab with suitable rating. G.
Thanks for all the replies - still a little unclear on one point. If a "cabinet" is rated at 125 watts, does this mean that all speakers inside that cabinet are rated at 125 watts or again is there a division process? (In half a mind to build a cab myself - so need to know what speakers to order if and when the glorious day ever came)
 18. Hi all, I am just about to take delivery of a rather splendid Eden Nemesis CN115 combo courtesy of ShergoldSnickers (thanks again). The amp part is rated 250 watts in to 4 Ohms, but the internal speaker is rated as 8 Ohms. If in the future I was to need the full whack and so got an extension cabinet, what rating does it need to be? I understand the in parallel (CN115 requires rewiring for this) an additional 8 Ohm speaker would present a 4 Ohm load to the amp. But do the speaker(s) need to be (both/all - say a 2X10 extension cab) rated at 250 watts or is there some maths jiggery pokery with watts too? Cheers Dyce
 19.
Hey everyone! Unfortunately for me I'm selling my GK 700RB MkII that I bought from "Vipa" in early Feb of this year. Fortunately for you its a fantastic amp and a very reasonable price of £300 ono The amp is in great working condition and sounds like a cannon with the bottom B or a double bass. It has a great Bi-amp built in and I couldn't be happier with the sound! I paid £300 all in (inc travel) to get this amp in Jan and would like to, if possible, make my money back as it is still in the great condition I got it in from Paul and I'm pretty sure that was a great deal as they still retail from GAK for £790!! I have it in Edinburgh just now, will be in Glasgow later in the week and willing to move it via train for the ticket fee (i have a railcard so usually fairly cheap and I don't throw things around as much as a courier!!! The only reason I'm selling this amp is because I'm a student without a car and use a lot of public transport to get to and from gigs and when I'm doubling and taking this amp the taxi drivers aren't that nice!! Im looking for a quick sale as I have my eye on a PJB amp so please send me your PM's fast!! no silly offers though Please help before I send it to the depths of FleaBay
20.
Back up for grabs as I've just taken delivery of a rather fine EBS Gorm 350ET combo. 24. Hi Martin, Does it have any sockets round the back? Also, would you be willing to post?
