1. I bought a Fender Precision American std (high mass bridge, graphite rods in neck , skb case etc) new from soundslive about 4/5 months ago. It was such a player that I decided on impulse to get the gallery to fit a sadowsky preamp and pups (this cost about £500 all in). The mods are to the highest standard and the bass sounds fantastic - I have gigged it a couple of times - I also have a Sadowsky PJ metro - this bass gets very very close in sound - it is light and as I said a real player. I now need to recoup some cash so this has to go. Looking around the new precisions cost over £800 now - this is on sale at £795 - less than the cost of a new standard precision - with the upgraded mods which make a massive difference.. Think this is a pretty good price - comments welcome. Delivery is included. Welcome to collect/tryout cheers

  5. I took this bass in a trade a while ago from a fellow basschatter with the intention of selling it on. I have however kept it far longer than I anticipated simply because it is such a great bass. Have recently taken a few financial hits so now have to shift a few things, reluctantly this is one. It is a 2004 Exotic Custom built by Pete Skjold to show off his bass building tallents at various guitar shows and as such has the very best of both materials and craftmanship. The body is spalted beech, the neck is 7 piece maple and purple heart laminated, the fingerboard is Bocote (an upgrade) the electrices are active EMG's. This really is a bass of exceptional quality both in terms of looks, build and sound. It is very light (8.2 lbs) and very well balanced and a joy to play. This actual bass is featured on the skold web site. One very small issue is that I was going to put on different strap locks and had drilled a hole in the end of the bass to do this before realising just how very good the recessed strap locks on it are. Obviously doesnt affect anything (see photos) - other than this the bass is 9.9/10 condition - the only other small ding I can see does not show up on the camera. Looking for £1250 including delivery in uk - elsewhere pm me (no hard case but will have padded gig bag and be packed accordingly) I do need to shift this though so I am open to sensible offers. Many thanks

  10. For sale my Lakland 4-94. I bought this bass new from the US about three years ago. It was my main gigging bass for some time. The tone is one of the best I have had from a bass. It has the Lakland LH3 preamp and pickups. It is beautifully crafted with incredible attention to detail, it is also very light. I have owned Lakland skyline models and IMO there is a considerable differnce between sklyine and US models. As stated this bass has been gigged and there are a few very minor marks (belt scratches etc) but nothing of any significance and I would say the bass overall is in very good condition. The case also has a few marks but is in good condition. I also had an aftermarket pickguard fitted ( my design - wanted it to look like a stingray but sound like a lakland!) which had different holes for screws so there is an extra hole near the volume control (from original scratch plate) the original is included (black) PLEASE READ BELOW Whilst using this bass at a gig it developed a significant earthing buzz ( when you touch the strings/hardware it stops) it really is quite loud and can cause problems if you are playing through a big rig) I contacted Lakland who were great and suggested I use the Bass gallery and lakland would pay for repairs under warranty. I sent the bass to the gallery and after discussion with them it was decided that to resolve the problem the preamp should be replaced. Lakland sent a new LH3 preamp to the galley who fitted it and sent the bass back to me. Tried again no difference - still buzzing. After several more conversations with Lakland and the bass gallery and mainly due to time contstraints on my part, I gave up, and the bass has sat in a case ever since. I am pretty sure this is not a major repair and that for someone with the time and inclination (and access to a good luthier) this will be easily sorted. I do not currently have the time or inclination to pursue this. I would normally be looking at somewhere in the region of £1250 for this bass but taking into consideration the issues explained I am offering the bass for sale at £900 delivered. I think this is fair but welcome any comments on this as always. I cannot give any guarantees on the issue raised. My thinking however is that if the worst comes to the worst you could install new preamp and pick ups of your choice for the difference and have a really cracking bass. 13.
That´s a fantastic price for a true beauty of a bass... you should reconsider selling it. My NYc Jazz is the best I´ve ever owned..
Thank you again - I have thought long and hard about this one beliieve me!
  14.
Is that a one-piece ash body? I can't recall ever seeing one on a Sadowsky bass.
Thank you gents - dont think this is a one piece body I am pretty sure its chambered (by the weight), the bridge is the sadowsky goto brand not sure on the electronics maybe will check , I dont think there are any significant differences between this and a 'new' sadowsky other than this has aged really nicely , one thing you know for certain when you play it both from the feel and the sound is that it is a 'Sadowsky'. Still for sale!
  15.
My new EUB is being delivered on Wendesday and I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas day.... Only two more sleeps!
Whats it going to be then??????????
  16.
It was like the great 70's Precision glut of Summer '08 You'll be pleased to hear that both mine and Marcus's have now been sold Terry, good luck with yours. That's a bloody good price for an NYC Chris
Yes thank you Chris - I saw yours had gone and that Marks had gone and it literally was a case of diving in quickly before the next one came along!
  17. Thank you gents - funny thing is I have been about to sell this for a week or so but every time I went to post someone else had posted a sadowsky for sale so I held off until now - anyone welcome to try it out
  18. Thank you very much! I have to say I was expecting a few! It is as stunning in real life as these photos.
  19. Up for sale My sadowsky NYC jazz. I have owned this bass for some years. It has not really been played that much but I have held on to it simply because it is such a beautiful instrument. It was always my intention to keep this regardless but now though having another Sadowsky to choose from and the current climate being as it, it is reluctantly up for sale. It has been confirmed by Sadowsky as made in June 1994. It is pre VTC so none fitted. It is very lightweight (8 1/4lbs - fairly accurate bathroom scales) it comes with a sadowsky lightweight case, it is currently strung with DR's and has had a new nut fitted and set up by the bass gallery recently. It is in very very good condition no real marks at all. It plays extremely well. I have owned many basses - this is one of real quality. Pricing is quite difficult on this - I originally thought £1750 but times as they are For sale at £1650 including delivery (comments welcome) . Viewing/trying welcome. No trades at this time - still need to reduce number of basses! As stated any queries/comments welcome either by post or PM. thanks
