  1. Considering how popular they were at the time you really don't see many original 80's Charvel, Jackson or Kramer PJ basses for sale. Someone must be hoarding them all!
  2. Saw Adam & The Ants at the Dominion Theatre in 1981 on the Prince Charming Tour. My 1st big rock gig and he was a huge influence on me wanting to take up bass.... Great player!
  3. Love my Monaco with my electric basses! Clear, punchy, authoritative and full with wonderful dispersion. Couldn't ask for more!
  4. See you at the final gig Nige!
  5. I use a Phaser when we play it in one of the covers bands I go out with... Seems to do the job close enough... just add some playing dynamics.
  6. There's never a bad time to buy a new Spector
  7. Simple fact is that in theatres, even more so than clubs & pubs, getting the cleanest, clearest controllable volume is a must. It makes everyone's job so much easier when using IEMs and clean preamp feeds to the desk. All settings can be saved and duplicated each night with just slight adjustments out front on the PA for the room ambience. I speak from experience having done an extensive theatre rock show tour myself with amps and then other theatre shows with silent stages/preamps.
  8. I flew from London, England to Toronto to collect a black Spector NS2 and a white Spector NS2. I flew to San Francisco to collect a white Spector NS4.
  9. Two gigs in the last week or so.... Canadian melodic rockers 'Harem Scarem' turned in a fantastic set at Camden Underworld last Monday. Huge riffs and melodies and probably the most underrated rock guitarist of the last 30 years in Pete Lesperance! Sunday saw me visiting Hoxton Hall (a quaint old variety venue in East London) for the first time.... to see Yacht Rock kings 'Young Gun Silver Fox' with support from the excellent Joel Sarakula! Wonderful sets of 'west coast' sounds dripping with Fender Rhodes, tight bass grooves with a Doobie bounce... and luscious vocals. Simply fantastic!
  10. Finally entering the 21st Century for depping and will be using a new Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ Tablet and a setlist/music app..... but I need to get a decent quality, reliable page turning pedal. Seems there's lots of choices out there. Who's using what and would recommend? Cheers!
  11. Inexpensive? Look out for a used GenzBenz Nx2x12 cab. Approx £350-£450, 600W, 4ohms. Job done. More expensive? LFSys Monaco 1x12. Fantastic cab.
  12. Bought a great preamp from Lee. Excellent comms and fast postage. Who could ask for more?! Recommended!
  13. To be fair... it was a 4 day bank holiday.
  14. Not 'Mega Shitty Four'? Missed opportunity....
  15. I've got 14 gigs in so far from May - September. Deps with Duran#Spandau show, local covers gigs, function band weddings and a couple of gigs with an original artist. Not bad so far!
  16. Stunning! Looks just like the sort of Hamer double cutaway style basses that Jack Blades played with Night Ranger. Very cool!
  17. Hartke Hydrive 112 is the cab you want. It's switchable between 8 ohms and 4 ohms and sounds great!
  18. Sadly a Spring bash is looking unlikely again, but will keep you all updated.
  19. I saw that and would have made an offer if they shipped. They appear firm on price though. If you buy it and find the neck too chunky give me a shout. I may be interested. The Pulse II has a nicer neck and a bargain used when in the mid-late £hundreds......but the thru neck, Euro is the better bass of the two at that £1k+ price bracket.
  20. Ah, but the buskers could deny it and tell the judge that they are protesting Farmers having to pay inheritence tax.... and they will get off scot-free
  21. No, Ghost are a Blue Oyster Cult tribute....
  22. Received a Rumble 100 from Chris. Good comms and packed fantastically. Cheers, recommended!
