A few attached. Wal has been through changes, detailed elsewhere and on the database The odd one in the second set was Summer of 69. I thought it would kill the momentum but guitarist started it and it got a huge response 🤷🏼‍♂️

A strange game of two halves at a new gig for us last night and we were running the PA ourselves with our sound guy out of action for a hip op. Early start and when we arrived the rugby was on so we had to wait for that but still managed to be ready in time. Because it was small we ended up just running vocals in the PA and no IEM’s for me, which might still have been helpful for me run as one plug out. Changed the battery on the Frankenjazz and a cable (I think an earth) came loose. Luckily I did that at home and realised/checked. As there was a nasty hum I left it at home and took the Wal for the first time in years. Used it for the first set and the Status S2 for the second. Interesting crowd demographics. A lot of youngsters (well everyone is compared to us!) plus more getting up to our age group. First set was quiet. Some muted response but it was a bit indifferent. Whatever they were on then kicked in and the second set exploded. Loads of singing and dancing and four additional songs after the official end. So from an unpromising start we left on a high. Gear: Wal (1st set) Status (2nd set), Darkglass Anagram, Baby Sumo (which felt like it was running out of puff after a few songs without breaks) Barefaced Three10.

I may have to get my leg out 🤔 It got me & #2 son down from the nosebleeds for Dream Theater. That or I'll hire it out 😁

😂 I’m in process of trying to move to stereo for my IEM’s on the CQ. Drummer has one aux to a powered speaker so there’s plenty of aux available as the others work with stage and FOH, but I find I get through the night better with IEM’s so I don’t over sing on BV’s and don’t dig in too hard in the bass because I can hear both better with them. What I have trouble with running them mono is the twin guitars mushing together that I think could be fixed running stereo and panning them.

I wish I had that ‘problem’! 🤣 Last night I was careful with level but everyone seemed happy, though I do find looking back on crowd phone videos the bass often seems a bit lost. Maybe that’s just because of the recording device, but possibly not as most phones do a pretty good job nowadays. I tend to set a level on soundcheck before I put the IEM’s in and then have to trust others to let me know, though last night I was running one in / one out most of the night

First gig report…sounded great Frankenjazz to Darkglass Anagram to BabySumo running just under half up into Three10 with tweeter about half up as well. The Tonehammer 350 was only there as a spare and not used. loaded in at the gig to cries of “what have you done” and “I thought you were getting smaller gear”. I ran the same chain previously but into a BigBaby2 and that was good but the BB2 is not coloured so though the clarity was great I think that I prefer the warmth and depth of the Three10.

Tonight’s gig was the first run out for the Barefaced Three10 that I picked up on Wednesday and very pleased with results. Frankenjazz-> Darkglass Anagram -> Baby Sumo -> Three10. Had a bit of direct from the Anagram in the PA but they didn’t need anything much. The Baby Sumo was at around 11 o’clock so a between 1/3 & 1/2 power and sounded great. I have run this chain to BigBaby2 previously which was a lot brighter, but it felt like the Three10 had a warmer/darker tone (not unexpected). Gig went well considering we haven’t got together for a while now due to holidays. Enthusiastic crowd but has been fuller, however they sang and danced and loads of compliments at the end so all good. Also had a guy come up to me in the break and say “you make this band” but I’ll take that with a pinch of salt as he was pished. 😂 I must remember to change the battery in the Jazz before next week. Indicator says it has life, but I could hear a bit of distortion that could be the battery on the way out (it could as easily be me digging in harder towards the end). Voice held out (mostly) for BV’s and I only got a little cramp in my fretting hand in the first encore.

So today was NCD 😁 Got back from hols Monday night. Email from Isaac midday to say my Three10 was ready to collect and today I went over and did the deed. Saturday will be the first run out. Had a good chat with Alex and a look round the new premises and prototypes. I fear another purchase in due course 🫣 though likely to be smaller and easier to sneak in - had to take my medicine like a man on return today 🤪

Yesterday on the balcony before we went out we had: - Kick The Kangaroo poppy tunes from an album I found on eMusic years ago then some Electric Boys. Later on after wifey got quickly bored at the Neon party and we went back to the room I sat on the balcony, watched the stars and listened to Lifesigns - Altitude on headphones with a nightcap. I rather think that people walking past thought I’d been banished for forgetting to get a card or some such 🤣

Based on the email thread it was 6 October. Got a pair of One10’s and BB2 so spoilt for choice…I still may need to find a was to unobtrusively sneak it into the gear corner. Started by rearranging the speaker stack for less than obvious space after the last gig 🤣

First one back for the new year as vox was away in January and we were a guitarist down, so there was a bit more space to fill but generally went ok. Good crowd singing and dancing so that was good. We had a rehearsal last Monday to clear the cobwebs and check adjustments for songs minus a guitar. I decided to run: bass->Anagram->Baby Sumo->Barefaced BB2 and with the Anagram di’d to the PA but got the usual amp and spare out anyway as I had a previous issue with the Baby Sumo (not repeated since) so wanted to be prepared. No problems last night and it sounded great in the wild and through my IEM’s. Massive cramping in my fretting hand in the last couple of numbers which was a trial and I ache this morning. Now I’m away for some r&r after a crazy couple of months at work, and I get back just before the next gig so will be going into that with no rehearsal and a couple of weeks not playing

I suspect it’s a combination of all of the above - move, Christmas and supplier issues. My order was early October and I was hoping it might be here for my gig tonight but as I’m then away for a couple of weeks and I’d said I’d collect but couldn’t mid February I started another email to check a couple of days ago then didn’t bother. Hopefully it’ll be here for the first gig after I get back 🤞

Ordered mine before that. Last email I had mid January said: They were hoping for the end of the month. As I’m also local, was going to collect, but said I was going to be away early Feb maybe they were a bit more relaxed on mine.

Barock Project at Trading Boundaries. Great Italian prog band and hugely underrated(IMO). Only UK gig again as Michael at TB brings them over. Almost missed them last time as we were gigging until the second night was announced. Going with #2 son and his g/f plus others

Yes it’s a Status neck and I love it 🙂 I have one coming from Kiwi’s graphite venture that I was going to put on the Hard Puncher but Ihaving played that a bit I like the original on that so it’s going onto a bitsa in planning
