  1. Forgot to add pictures of original electrics etc. And forgot to watermark, so at least I've done this one!
  2. For sale is my lovely Fender American FMT/QMT Deluxe Jazz bass 5 string, complete with original Fender hard case. It has an alder wood body, bound maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl inlays. Year – 2002 Colour – Tobacco Sunburst Body Finish – Gloss Body Wood – Alder Neck Finish – Satin Neck Wood – Maple Fretboard – Rosewood Frets – 20 Scale Length – 34″ Weight – 4057g (4.06kg) I purchased second-hand from BassBros in 2022 (Reciept for £1,375). Since owning, I had the back of the neck further de-satined, so it's lovely and fast. I also fitted luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots (although one is just slightly distorted - see pics) and Glockenklang 3-Band preamp. Original electrics available. Original BassBros listing (and better quality pictures) can be found here: https://bassbros.co.uk/sold-basses/2002-fender-american-deluxe-jazz-bass-qmt/
  3. That sounds like something I could use, as I might make some more of these. Do you have any links to where you get these from? An Amazon search was unhelpful.
  4. My wife says she's not lending me these again though! So I would have to invest in a proper acrilic heater!
  5. After a couple of recent gig mishaps with trailing leads changing my compressor settings mid-song, I've made a (prototype) acrylic shield today!
  6. Hi, are these a 3/4 size set or 4/4? Thanks
  7. Lovely bass tone, there. Fab stuff
  8. A lot depends on their positioning - they seem less 'closed' if they can be set a little away from a wall. That said, I often don't have the speaker directly in contact with the floor - I often lift up onto a case / wedge.
  9. I own two of the GR AT110 (both 4ohms). Excellent cab, and 'light as a feather'. When I compare to my larger cabs (front ported 210 Mesa Subways), the GR seems much less directional - probably helped by their rear port - this may (or may not) be useful in a pit environments etc. I've used the GR's both as standalone cabs, or stacked - with fretless, fretted 5 string, and upright bass. They handle higher volumes well and the switchable tweeter (3 options) is very useful too. You're most welcome to try if you are passing - I'm based near Winchester, Hampshire.
  10. BEFORE entering into any further dialogue with G4M, I would encourage you to speak with Citizens Advice https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk regarding the potential to engage in a legal dispute with G4M. Ultimately, they sold you a case that designed to protect your instrument, but seemingly has done the opposite. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/somethings-gone-wrong-with-a-purchase/claim-compensation-if-an-item-or-product-causes-damage/ " If an item causes damage to your property through no fault of your own, you may have a legal right to claim compensation (also known as claiming ‘damages’). "
  11. Warren purchased a MXR Synth pedal from me - lovely easy transaction and great communication. Thanks!
  12. And now a press release via here: https://guitar.com/news/gear-news/john-hornby-skewes-jhs-shutting-down/
  13. I've seen an unofficial notice / rumour that JHS (Dist. for Vintage, Encore et. al) are close to shutting their doors. I hope that this is not the case, as their products are useful conduits for entry-level (+) musicians.
  14. Reserved pending payment
  15. Essentially brand new, unregistered warranty. Tried once but overkill for what I actually need. I can return to Thomann, but would anyone here like this?
  16. Lovely looking bass. As well as the truss-rod, do these have carbon rods reinforcing the neck?
  17. The HSE have blank templates that you can complete, along with lots of useful advice. https://www.hse.gov.uk/simple-health-safety/risk/risk-assessment-template-and-examples.htm
  18. On hold pending payment
  19. I've been searching for a (discontinued) Visual Volume (Truetone) pedal for quite some time, mainly for pit work and other live situations where I need to 'see' as well as hear my volume. Since that pedal is no longer available, I’ve been looking for a suitable replacement - a volume pedal with LED display, with a small footprint to maintain portability / pedal board space. Recently, I purchased a delightful TunerPress by Hotone. Andertons price-matched Thomann, so it cost me £115, plus a few pounds for postage. This is a suitably compact pedal—measuring 81mm (W) x 162mm (L) x 61mm (H)—and it seems well-built, though only time will tell. Essentially, it's a volume pedal with light-up segments (20ish?) that illuminate based on volume, making it nearly perfect for my needs; I would have preferred LED segments in different colors for quick reference, rather than just a singular blue shade. The built-in tuner is good, though not as precise as my Peterson, but it's suitable for quick tuning in live situations. It also offers various tuning modes and settings—see the link to the manual for details. https://www.hotone.com/products/press/Tuner-Press The added bonus it that it has switchable impedance, making it suitable for both in-line and effects loop usage. Expression out and a switchable buffer too 9V pedal power (-) required. Not overly heavy either - approx 600g.

  20. Welcome (back), NickS. I'm just a short drive down the road from you, in Chandlers Ford.
  21. Hi, Lovely EUB. Is it the same model as this one?: https://www.basscentre.com/ns-design-double-bass/ns-design-cr5-double-bass.html
  22. The main difference is to do with the 'placement' of fret 12, relative to the upper horn of the bass body. With the Flamboyant, the horn tip is at the 12 fret, with the original, it's approximately at fret 15. This does not trouble me, but it might with some people. The body shape + horn length does determine where the bass naturally wants to 'sit' on your body, but you can of course move the strap to suit.
  23. Here are my two SEI's. Original Fretted 5 Custom made for me in 2007. 34" scale 5-string. Zebrano wood body with through neck and book-matched flame maple front and back. Macasa ebony fretboard. Retro-fitted with luminous side dots (Luminlay) & John East preamp (18v) Uni-Pre 5 with Kent Armstrong pick-ups. Flamboyant Fretless 5 Purchased secondhand via BC. 35" scale 5-string. The wood is madrone burl front and back facings, matching headstock, ash wings. The neck is a 7 piece flamed maple / wenge through-neck topped with an ebony board, with subtle lines in mahogany. Fitted with side LED's & Schack preamp along with Bartolini MM pickups and ABM piezo bridge with piezo preamp.
