  3. I had a fretless through-neck 5 which was a nice bass. Sold it when the number of basses started getting rather high (I've bought more since then though).
  4. Yes. Once upon a time I wanted a Precision. Then, after getting one and playing it for a while, I happened across Warwick, and everything changed. I've had another shift since then, to 5 strings. Just deciding whether to go back to gigging fretless. Favourite basses now are Seis and Antoniotsais.

  6. Using it and my other dirt pedals I even managed to create a massive lo-fi bitcrushed doom sound, which is what I was dreaming of for a while now. Only tested it on headphones so far, and it sounded awesome, but I will push it through my amp's 15" speaker at my nearest convenience. Can't wait.

  10. Not confused at all. You weren't specific enough, and the fourth Pokemon badge, as I discovered through the wonder of DuckDuckGo, is Brilliant Diamon and Shining Pearl. I suppose I could have said Camp Cook, but not every former Scout would have gained their badges in the same order as me.
  11. Have you tried WinISD as mentioned above? It's a bit non-intuitive if you don't know all the terms but I've managed to get it to work, so if you've used other cab software you should find it easy enough.
  12. What looks very much like the M-Vave branded equivalent of the Lekato WS-90 has come up on AliExpress for under £30 (until the 27th of August).   15. I once orded from Farnell, a single microprocessor about 20mm. It arrived in a plastic frame for 100 chips about ten inches square, sandwiched under another one. In an anti-electrostatic bag. In a standard plastic bag. Surrounded by bubble wrap. In a cardboard box. Surrounded by cardboard packing. Inside a cardboard box over two feet square. Someone must have been having a very borjng afternoon. 😁
  16. I'm happy to model the Celestion Pulse drivers for you or indeed look at any others. As @stevie has pointed out the cab is a little large for those drivers (we used a 30litre cab for the Pulse design we did during lockdown), but they look like they would work in a range of cabs. It'll be good to return some of the help you've given me over the years

  19. Clearing out some stuff, and I don’t use this so time to move it on. Excellent 9/10 condition, works fine and has a new Duracell fitted recently. Has two little rubber feet missing, but will include a new set of 4 with the pedal in case you don’t want to Velcro it to a pedalboard. These currently sell new on t’internet for between £75 and £85.   21. So what's the mysterious fourth badge?
  22. Something like this if you can find one would probably be usuable. This one has a 230V ac primary, and a 32.5Vac - 0v - 32.5Vac secondary. It was salvaged from an early 80s Carlsboro 100 watt pa amp and is likely rated around 100 - 120VA. The 250 ML is a 50 watt per channel unit so you will likely need a transformer rated around 100 - 120VA. The GK diagram also notes the mains fuse should be T 1 Amp for UK operation so you would need to change that from the current 3 Amp fuse for 110-120v working. The fuses for the transformer rails ( the 32-0-32 outputs) remain the same. You could also go all fancy and fit a modern toroidal transformer. Ideally one with a 240V primary, and around 30-33v ac dual secondary. That should give you around the 45-0-45v rectified supply you need to power the amp. It's not rocket science, but it is messing with mains voltage so a great deal of care is needed to avoid any unpleasant outcomes. Just saying. Maybe a different tech might help you out and it may even be worth emailing Gallien Krueger to see if they can suggest a modern part to replace the 110V-120V transformer. They may also be able to offer any insight into anything else you might need to factor in to a voltage conversion.

Reviving this old post as part-penance, part-information sharing To paraphrase the saying: Good things come to those who... give up trying to fix something and leave it in a corner until they speak to a guy at the gym. Having not got anywhere with the red tape involved in posting an item for repair to the Netherlands, and briefly sticking my head above the parapet a couple years later with another request to Darkglass support to which they couldn't help as the model wasn't produced anymore so no stock to repair was available, it turned out in the end that the answer was staring me in the face for years... another persons face in fact! As it happens a fellow gym-goer's father is a retired electronics engineer who mastered in sound engineering (or something like that) and likes to tinker with old amps, speakers etc in his now perpetual free-time. After four painful years of having to stare at a very expensive doorstop this chap spent 10 minutes looking over the board, 2 minutes googling, and told me to buy this > ICEPower-700 Exactly the same board as is in the V1 MT900, just available from somewhere else. Popped the blown one out, fitted the new one in, and gave it a go. So happy to say it hasn't skipped a beat since it got fixed. Performs just the way it always did - although it now plays second fiddle to the V2 MT900 which is in the main rig I always make a point of running the V1 for a good portion of a rehearsal just to make sure it can keep up and that there's no other issues waiting in the wings from it's previous idiot-borne demise. Double bonus is that the new board comes with a 2 year guarantee! Hopefully, if someone else is unfortunate enough to have suffered a similar issue they might happen across this thread and find the information useful.

Don’t think I’ve ever fallen out with any previous band members but had one or two resent my leaving, despite giving them decent notice etc. The last band I left were brilliant though, and I still keep in touch with them. From my experience it’s been mainly singers who seek / want a drama when they leave. Instead of working as normal through their period of notice, I’ve seen some just start stupid behaviour on gigs or just putting no effort in at all, as if maybe ( shock horror ) they’re seeking attention of any kind. On more than one occasion this has led to near physical interventions from the band, especially when one singer was caught giving out business cards on our gig to the new outfit he was setting up in an attempt to steal our clients. He was lucky to walk away from that incident I think. 🤨
