what do you reckon...custom rickenfacker?

Not my pic, unfortunately, I didn't get it together to go to any festivals this year (so far)...But I saw this picture of (as far as I know) Korpiklaani's bassist playing at this years Metal Camp (Feel free to laugh at the pathetic festival name, I do realise how silly an childish it makes the festival sound lol)

What d'ya reckon? Custom build? Or is there a company out there making 5 string rickenbacker look-a-likes? And with jazz pups too? Sounds too good to be true for non-custom if you ask me...

Custom build, without a doubt. There's a logo on the headstock but I can't make it out.

There is a guy in Italy doing some really good Rick copies but i'm not sure if this is one as his are pretty much identical.

John Hall will be getting his keks in a twist and calling his lawyers if he sees this!

Following a link on Korpiklaani's website & putting 2+2 together, I'd bet it's an [url="http://www.amfisound.fi/frameset_eng.htm"]Amfisound[/url].

I can't find the actual bass on the site but they've built a couple of custom Rickalikes for other Finnish bands, and the little round logo looks right.

The other Rick rip-off I was alluding to was Handyman Guitars, according to a friend of mine who spotted one being used ina Italian Genesis tribute band. I can't find anything about Handyman on the net but here's the photo.

well as far as I know only finland have entered a metal band into the eurovision....so yea, I'd say they do, haha.

Excellent findings there bassassin! That company have some crazy guitars though...30 fret 8 strings? seriously...I'm all for extreme noodling, but that's just silly
