Hi all,

Got a bit of a dilemma here :)

Iam having my MIA Fender Deluxe Precision set up and I am wondering whether or not to stick a new set of strings on it.
I currently have TI flats which are fab but a bit I find them slightly "loose".

I like the look of the Rotosound Jazz 77 strings

I play in a christian group so looking for a nice smooth silky sound.

Appreciate any thoughts

Deaky

This is where the fun begins, I'm afraid.

At the moment, the UK is largely a La Bella flat-free zone. I emailed them, and they told me to contact the Bass Gallery... dunno what they have in stock, though.

Yeah... that's the ones!

Alas, Stringbusters only seem to have the really obscure scale lengths in stock at the moment...

So in absence of the La Bella what strings would you go for?

Try some Pyramid Gold Flats from StringStar - link and Basschat 10% off here.

Roto 77s are similar in sound to TIs but brighter and rougher in feel - if you want smooth sound and feel, I recommend GHS precisions.

Sadowsky flats are very nice!

They can be ordered from their online shop. Ive ordered strings from them quite a few times now, delivery is always quick and ive never had a problem

i play christian music and found rounds suited most songs....flats i found too much of a thump for coming in and supporting melodically
i found the best TI rounds..and others of course...they are all pretty good
worst was stainless and for those roto's
i hate stainless
fender and ernies nickels were fine but TI just sat right especially with the worship leader and the singers
got to play it right...

cheers
geof
