Allo!

Last thing i knew I'd joined the old forum and b*gger me, a day later it had gone!

Anyway, great to be able to join you guys at last! Where's Rich?!

I'm a pro bass player based in Cambridgeshire but looking at moving soon to rural Leicestershire where I can sit in the farmer's field with me Vigier and not upset any neighbouring human beings! I'm known to some of you guys who may remember my involvement in setting up the bass maker `E Basses' (more on this in a minute!) and the fact that I've got 45 basses etc etc - its a bit of a disease!

Good news - E Basses is resurrected and we are exhibiting at this year's Music Live at the NEC - more news on the new instruments coming soon!

I'm also providing private tuition in Cambs/Leicestershire - check out my site: www.freewebs.com/doctor_bass

Cheers!

Nick

Welcome to Basschat Nick!

Did I spy a few Cardinal series Aria Pros in your collection? Sharkfinger is interested in getting one, perhaps you could let him know what they're like.

32" fascinates me, it's either a Cardinal or a Tab 60 I'll be plucking soon.

Ta,

Paul.

Hi Paul!

Yes! The Cardinal range - super little basses! The reason I tend to buy them up is that they are indeed 32 inch scale and I teach a lot of younger people who don't always own a bass from the outset; these basses tend to get loaned out etc. My first ever bass is the cherry burst CSB-450 - bought back in 1982! I bought an Aria Laser Classic last week - super instrument for £100! The entire collection currently contains...

Alembic LS-1
Alembic 20th Anniversary #61 of 200
Aria CSB 380
Aria CSB 380
Aria CSB 380 - twin p/up
Aria CSB 450 !

Ah!

Rich! Hallo! Hope you are well! I've been offline for a while!

Ped! Thank you for you welcome! Yes, I too love Vigier basses - nearly bought a third one back in the summer but twas not to be! I will try and find some pix of those lovely French ladieez! I've just posted some porn over in the relevant receptacle!

Many thanks!

Edit - Ped, here's the Passion model! The pic was taken off of Ebay - the colour is much more of a claret - great bass!

Cheers!

Here ya go Ped!

In our studio:

and with slightly more hair, shot taken New Years Eve 2003...what a state i was in that night....Trappiste ales eh! Spot the Nomad Bassman fx unit in the rack...

The finish is very unusual, changes colour before your very brain! Starting to become well worn though; I bought the bass from the Bass Centre in Birmingham in '97 - £1250 secondhand - serial number 191

Didn't realise how f*cking ugly I am!

Anyway, the Arpege features a fairly straightforward control layout, no ROMs RAMs or Nautilus system! Theres the volume (with pull boost), parametric frequency, freq cut/boost, series/parallel mini toggle switch plus 3 position p/up selector switch! The `other' switch is in fact another jack output for a tuner, as far as I'm aware (the controls are bypassed when you use it).
