Used to get some funny looks when playing live but it sounded pretty good. Nick on drums in the photo was definitely giving me a funny look, possible bum note moment. (Pic is from 2012 I think). Does it stay in place ok without having a body as such to steady it against you. ? Dave Quote

The main difficulty is getting it down the stairs... Unfortunately all corners in the Bass Cave are occupied. Doesn't help that i have a full clothes rack in there too for all my Glam costumes. Dave There's a couple of appendages that fit either side of the eub body to simulate the acoustic's body. They're not much to look at but the Stagg eub was budget friendly at the time. The neck board isn't as round as an acoustic so playing with a bow is tricky but I only went 'arco' on the intro for Born on the Bayou to get the drone sound. 1 1 Quote

I am fairly sure it involves adjustments to playing technique. It may do, but it is more likely that you need to practice with a metronome and work on how to improve the way that you listen to your own playing! You are not alone - timing and consistency are what sorts the men from the boys and the thing that really makes you a top player. I've been playing for fifty years and they are the two things that I'm still working on! Edited Sunday at 00:05 by peteb 5 Quote
Bluewine Posted Sunday at 04:47 Posted Sunday at 04:47 I'll be 72 in a couple of weeks. I hope I can get into a healthier lifestyle and practice more. I appreciate that since age 12 or 13 I'm still gigging. I blessed that I'm working with younger musicians. These guys are in their early 40s and motivated. They're not emotional like me, everything is strictly business. I'm more conscious about the caliber and logistics of the gigs we play. We're starting to fill up our summer schedule . I'm hoping we get some of the bigger festivals and fair gigs with big stage and big sound. Am I asking too much for a 72 year old ? Daryl 6 Quote

Age is just a number and while the options are there for you then take them with open arms. Dave 1 1 Quote
BigRedX Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Well I'm 9 minutes closer to achieving my goal for 2026. Our synth player has just sent the latest mixes of two of the songs we've been working on and AFAIAC there are no further changes to be made. There's one more song that is in the process of being mixed and then we'll have to decide which other two songs to record vocals for so we'll have enough to complete our first album. I'm trying to keep the running time just under 40 minutes so we can consider doing a limited run on vinyl as well as CD. That will probably mean that the two formats have different running orders as the track we are likely to want at the end of the CD won't go well in that location from a technical PoV on vinyl. Quote
