Do the two facing upwards help hear the bass, especially on a small stage, where you might have to stand right in front of and close to the rig. Quote
Bassnut62 Posted 18 hours ago Author Posted 18 hours ago Dan and EZ, I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience. Thanks. Quote

Not with the full rig for me, as I think the 2 upwards speakers are too high up and are blowing past me. I think these work better when the Flightcase is on the floor. However, they do help the overall FOH sound if the ceiling isn’t too high. 1 Quote

That's what I use - two or three 4x5 cabs - and it works for me. My amp (AG700) is 700W, but I don't use it at anything like full power. 1 Quote

I had the Flightcase and the powered cab and used the Flightcase on the floor next to me and alongside the 300 (as opposed to the more visually impressive in top of the 300), best of both worlds 1 Quote
JPJ Posted 18 minutes ago Posted 18 minutes ago (edited) My experience was generally positive until I needed a repair. I owned both the Briefcase 2x5” combo until redundancy forced sale and the Bass Buddy preamp (basically the front end of the Briefcase amp). All was well until the Bass Buddy developed a fault and went off to Selectron, the so called UK service centre. After almost a year and numerous chase ups Selectron decided my Bass Buddy was unrepairable and wanted a ridiculous amount of money to return it to me that I didn’t bother, swearing to never touch another piece of PJB gear. Might also be worth reading the thread “Phil Jones in crisis” posted in the general discussion section by @cetera here before parting with any cash. Edited 14 minutes ago by JPJ Quote

That’s alarming and outrageous by Selectron. Sorry for your loss. Will check out that thread too. Quote
