Don't we see this type of scenario periodically?

 

Harley Benton announced an (orange coloured) EB2 style bass a few years back, I think it was @neepheid that bought the prototype and did some mods to the guts, but from memory the bass never went into production.

 

Possibly something similar here?  Fanfare for a model that may not appear?

Would seem to be a swing and a miss if they somehow didn't have it ready for NAMM after it being "announced" last year

I'm sure these will be very nice, judging by the constituent parts they've used, but I do find more and more that I prefer the OEM Fender sound (when you get a good one!) I'm sure I've either played or owned most of the alternative Jazzes, from the £63 Ash and Roasted Maple Fazley to Sadowskys and Lulls, and you know what? If you get a good Fender, it just feels and sounds right. 

 

I've been setting up an as-new American Professional II Jazz that I took in as a PX the other week, and it's just sublime. Also, I played in the house band at a reopened Jazz Club in Sheffield last night, and played my American Elite Jazz all evening. Pure bliss.

 

My point? Sometimes only the original article will do.

It would be handy if you did have that superpower though. We could deploy you every time Fender threatened to bring out another pointless variation on their limited themes, or anybody said they'd be bringing out another bloody relic.

looks nice, but it seems like a pointless video unless we can hear the thing!
