Thomann have the 5 strings up at £949 for plain colours and £977 for the Black Cherry and Black Stain, so £977 then as Cherry is the best colour.

They're £888 and £949 respectively for the 4 strings:

I'm not usually a fan of quilted tops, but they do look good on more modern shaped basses. Still, I think it's the white one for me - it's pure Mike Starr and looks like his Euro sig.

Yep coming in sub £900 is a sweet point for sure. I think these will be big sellers.....

Although I won't be joining the queue to buy one, this sort of product is exactly why Spector appears to be going from strength to strength. And to reference another thread, G&L needs to have a look at what Korg has enabled Spector to do.

That's a US custom shop model too.

Thanks for pointing this out to me cetera. Do you think they will have an Icon neck through with EMGs next?

I'm waiting on an update as to any other future releases, but in all honesty I don't see why they would as it would muddy the waters with the Euro series unless it comes with Aguilars and a lower grade build.

It make more sense to me to have three distinct ranges and price points.... Far East bolt-on basses, through neck Euro basses and custom shop USA basses.

Who wrote the script... 'comfortability'...? It's not even a word. Come on, marketing department at Korg.... that's just Buzzword Bingo.

An NS Icon NT replacing the NS Ethos would make sense (and also close the price gap between the NS Bolt-on and the Euro).

As Aguilar and Spector both belong to Korg, they could go for Aguilar pickups and preamp again.

Someone left this question in the comments for the official Spector NS Icon Bolt-On video and Spector replied.

I am not really into emojis, so I asked Gemini what the eyes emoji stands for and here is the answer.

Well, still don't know what the eyes emoji means in this context. Flirting maybe? 😉

I'd say in that context, the emoji would mean that you should keep your eyes peeled.

I'm loving the looks of these (5 string Black Stain for me please!) and a neck through budget Spector would be off the chain. Really want to try one of these and I'm extra sad that PMT is closed now. I have to travel over an hour and half each way to a stockist. I have been looking for an excuse to finally go to @Bass Direct though...

I think that is possible. A lower level Indonesian made thru-neck with Aguilars and crown inlays to replace the Ethos...

On the subject of Neck Through and Korea vs Indonesia, I notice that Indonesia is producing Neck Through Schecter 12s (Stargazer) whereas Korea is doing bolt on 12s (DP-12). This tells us that there's certainly the capability and confidence in Indonesia with NT builds so that might just point toward an Indonesia-built NT Spector. The Stargazer is around £1249 and has a lot more hardware than a 4/5 string Spector would, so the £1100-1200 mark seems achievable based on my simple estimates and that would differentiate from the bolt on and the Euro. And then there's the Euro Bolt versus NT Indonesian...

I'm sticking to what I like and know. EMGs, NT, Haz (or clone). An early NS5-XL next for me, enough of the complications of product differentiation 😄

An update for those interested in these basses.

I've just spoken to my contact at Korg and he's asked me to let you all know that there is limited stock from the first production run of the Icon series basses coming in to Andertons, GuitarGuitar, @Bass Direct and one or two other UK/Eire stockists (inc X music in Dublin) in the next couple of weeks. If you definitely want one - you should make contact asap with one of these shops and get yours reserved!

The main bulk of deliveries of the new Icon range will arrive early in the New Year and you will see many more of them available then, along with a proper promotional push.

Regarding some other questions that were asked here and on Facebook groups:

Apparently there are still more Pulse II basses on order and should be arriving soon. To the best of my contact's knowledge they have not ceased production of this model or the Ethos at this stage.

There are no confirmed plans for a through neck version of the Icon yet. All production is concentrating on this new bolt on range for now.

For those asking about left handed Icons.... there may well be some in the next production run but nothing confirmed yet.
