I maintain the 6 string/s made for Tye Zamora is the "weirdest" Fender, doesn't remotely resemble anything else they've ever produced.

Came here to say this :)

I've seen one of the two made in the flesh, at a Fender Custom Shop clinic in the Netherlands. Master builder John English was there to take the audience through their relicing process, which was really informative and interesting, and they had some cool Custom Shop instruments on display. One of those was the Tye Zamora bass.

The original Fender Katana bass was pretty weird.  This is a nice talking point but I don't think I will ever see one anywhere.

The originals were Squiers, only the reissues are Fender Japan.

My Brother had a Katana six-string.

That is funky!!

Good competition as the Tye Zamora model has no Fender DNA, but looks like a pretty conventional set-up for a bass of it's type - whereas this Adrian Younge thing looks 100% Fender but is completely unconventional 😂

I geddit! It's the ultimate multi-purpose bass. You can play wuffly DB lines with the Novak MudBucker, Classic Rock with the Precision pickup and never dare enter the dusty end where you run out of frets, and if you happen to be the second coming of Jaco, you've got the fretless section for some fanatical runs and general slidy soloing...

It's the OEM Fender GAS Killer! Every bass you can imagine, all rolled into one!!

Verdict: Nah... I'll take nine of the £1400 chambered Blu DeTiger Signature Jazzes and one Laura Lee Jazz instead, please.

That is a fair point! I was stretching the idea a little.
