Does anyone have a transcription of Stuart Zender’s bass line for this that they can share, please?

Standard notation preferred, please. I struggle to get my head around TAB.

Thank you.

I found this useful when learning it. Apparently though the album version wasn’t Stuart Zender. Fantastic bassline and very rewarding to play in a band.

Thank you. It wants me to become a member and download an app though.

You can just create an account (free) and ignore the app requests.

Yeah album version wasn't Stu, it's credited as Mr X, later revealed to be Paul Powell.

Stu's line is on the single version which has the crazier sounding chorus!

Both very fun to play, one of my favourites... hence the user name! :D

My phone adds a wrong file extension when downloading from basschat. Rename it as something.pdf or use a pc

Paul Powell is a great player, his Mr Exe album is well worth a listen

That tab is already so close to an ordinary score: tempo is seen under the stave. But: four lines instead of five, and heads are numbers, not dots.

I can't read pitch from a traditional score without great difficulty. But as I can read rhythm fairly well I find I can site read many  songs from that sort of advanced tab including chsnhing to my preferred fingerings on the fly.

I do admit that sometimes tabs - even they are complex to read to me - may help with fingerings. It is interesting to see, how someone else is understanding and taming the fretboard.

There are a lot of people who are dogmatic about how to read and understand music. Tab doesn't require an understanding of harmonic theory and I think that makes trained musicians tend to look down on it.

However, it is straightforward for learning pieces and can be used at any level of complexity.

I have to work with what I understand, it makes understanding theory slower but not impossible.

My problem is that there were no tabs in my youth. Therefore I never learned to read them well. It is easier to read notes, because that's how I was taught.

All notation still lack lots of things starting from sounds.
