Being passive isn't the only factor - my Laklands are just more up my street, as I mentioned. It's still a lovely bass, but perhaps stands a better chance of being moved on unadulterated! 😉

Lovely bass, probably too late at this point, but do Bass Freaks not accept returns?  Couple of weeks in on a distance sale, would think sending it back would be the obvious choice?

Yup, it arrived in late June, so past the point of no return now. Thanks for the suggestion. I've got a Mike Pope preamp sitting in the drawer, though... 🤔
