Dingwall SP-1 5-string £1850 Woking

Up for sale is a brand new Dingwall SP-1, their new P/J passive bass.

 

I got it from Bass Freaks in Belgium a couple of weeks ago, as there's very few in circulation in the UK as yet. Most dealers here won't have any stock for some time, so here's a chance to get hold of one now.

 

I've used it at two rehearsals, and it's light (4kg), responsive, tonally very versatile, and really easy to play, but I've been using active basses since the 80's, and I find myself reverting to my old Lakland 55-94, which just feels like home.

 

As new, unmarked, and comes complete with gigbag and tool kit. The list price will be £2199 when they finally arrive on these shores in any numbers, so I'm taking a hit on the price, but I suppose that's the cost of early adoption!

Being passive isn't the only factor - my Laklands are just more up my street, as I mentioned. It's still a lovely bass, but perhaps stands a better chance of being moved on unadulterated! 😉
