Is there a limit on how many "for sale" ads I can post?

Question

I am wondering whether there's a limit in the to posting for sale adverts? We're moving house soon and there's 20 years of stuff to clear out!

p.s. I see the buying/selling advice includes "there is a fair use limit in place of 10 listings per month" - which is not unreasonable.  👍

We don't stand on formalities here. Cat is fine AKA Tim 😸

BTW, the 25B Crush amp you sold me is still going strong - and gets gigged every couple of weeks :)

There is a limit on how many for sale items can be opened within a calendal month. I think it might cover just basses, but memory is a bit hazy and not in a position to check, I will do though

OK, there is a limit on the 'Paid' marketplaces, which is Basses for sale (and sub-forums such as left handed), Amps and Cabs and Other musical items on items that are above £50 where you can only create a new entry if you have created less than 10 other sales since the same day in the previous month.  Note you can have many more sales than 10 open at the same time, you just can't start them if you have started 10 or more in the last month

So for instance if you created a sale post for a £300 bass today (28th May) and then every 3 days, trying to create your tenth bass sale would fail on the 24th June with a 1650 error and you would not be able to create that post until the 28th June. However, if you changed that and created sales every 4 days, you would never hit the limit.

How about 1 x £3,000 one, you can do that no problem!

Don't have one of those either  :(

As you are a supporting member, there shouldn't be. We have different rules for trade dealers but for a house clearance, you should be fine. Any issues, report it to the Moderation team and we'll pick it up. The two links here, might be of use -

I’m having issues getting my ads approved. One this last week took 3 or 4 days before it was given approval. I'm having a clear-out due to having to move back to my mom’s to look after her. I've amassed loads of small items that I don't need and don't want to take with me - I'm sure my mom doesn't want me to take them, either 🤣.

Personally I check the approval queue every time I visit Basschat. Occasionally life gets in the way and I am not here every day (particularly weekends). I did approve one the other day that was, ahem, a bit vintage but usually we’re pretty quick.

None were showing when I posted, as I checked the queue. A short strap was showing awaiting approval just now, which I have approved, but there are no others.

And now the strings have appeared which I have approved but they literally just showed up. Not sure why there was a delay.
