AinsleyWalker Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Just received this in the post (NOT from a Basschat seller).... Any idea what would cause this kind of damage?!? The photos on the listing showed a 'like-new' pedal, and there's no smudging on the packaging at all. Not happy ☹️ Edited 3 hours ago by AinsleyWalker Quote
Quatschmacher Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Some kind of solvent or perfume can erase ink like this. Quote
Beedster Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago That looks like a bad day on the production line coinciding with a bad day at QC Control 🤔 Quote

It's 'like-new' in the listing photos, this has happened during transit. But the box and whatnot shows no sign of ink. I'm wondering whether it was damaged before postage... jimbobothy Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago ... maybe the seller would offer you a partial refund for the damage caused, or send it back as it's clearly received not as described in the listing. Quote

Yeah I'm speaking to Reverb right now to see what can be done. Just thought I'd share as it's bizarre!! 1 Quote
Quatschmacher Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Did you have pictures of the actual pedal showing no damage? Might the seller have tried to clean it/remove Velcro with a solvent before sending? Also, if it was something like a solvent spillage in transit, it can evaporate, leaving little trace. Quote

Yep, the listing included about 8 photos of the owner holding it, none of this ink smudging. Even got a photo of the custom pedalboard attachment underneath so it's definitely this pedal. That second point could very well be true - if so, going ahead and shipping it to a buyer is pretty despicable haha. I'm doubtful of anything happening in transit, the box is in good nick and the protective layers that wrapped the pedal show no ink, no smudges etc. My partner is adamant that it was damaged before shipping. AinsleyWalker Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago "Refund Request Approved" Well that was quick and painless... 2 Quote
PaulThePlug Posted 24 minutes ago Posted 24 minutes ago Might of given it a wipe over, with something on a cloth before putting it in a box... genuine and unknown on the senders behalf? This is the pedal that @Baloney Balderdash has raved about... If it was at a favourable price, and you can get a decent discount over the cost of return postage that they will nerd to cover... worth taking a cosmetic hit for... Reliced Pedals? Quote

It's quite possible, just a first for me to open a box and see that happen to a pedal! All sorted now. Seller agreed to refund fair and square, I'll be sending it back tomorrow. Shame as I was looking forward to trying it out! I became aware of them a decade+ ago through Amos of Tesseract's rig. Quote
