Hosco Bridges

Just wondered if anyone had tried the Hosco vintage Fender style bass bridges. I’m  considering the Hosco, the more expensive Allparts and the even more expensive Fender. They all look very similar.

Indeed. Don't be drawn into the 'more expensive means better game', while there might be some legitimate justification for the difference in price (materials used, place of manufacture), they're all much of a muchness once they're on your bass.

I've got Hosco vintage style BBOT's on both my old Tokais, and in process of putting another on my Greco P-Bass. I prefer the spiral-saddles on Fender style basses.

They're well made, decent quality for the price & fitted OK without need to drill new holes.  I understand Hosco is an export brand for Gotoh..

I put one on a parts bass I got to replace a fender high mass unit, no problem at all, no issues with quality, like @nick I prefer the threaded saddles and it also reduced the weight of the bass a fair bit which was nice!

Turns out the high mass bridge I has had left an indentation in the finish so I have to stick with it. 😔

Ha, I wasn't aware. I only know Hosco from their luthery and guitar maintenance tools. I have some Hosco-branded polish pads and a vintage truss rod adjuster (for the old Fender-style neck heel adjuster type with a crosshead). All excellent stuff. Never knew they also sold guitar hardware under that brand name.

Shame that, I have a spare you could have had for £18. I've also got one on my Fender Player Precision, can't fault it.

I've fitted a Hosco bridge on my Musicmaster, the version with two compensated saddles that lock off at the correct angle so each takes two strings. A really good piece of kit. If you need a photo let me know.
