Reverend Rumblefish electrics/pickup buzz

Last night at rehearsal I got an electric shock when my lips touched the mic. I'm checking things over to try and work out what it might be, including checking the earth connection in my bass - a Reverend Rumblefish 5L.

 

Things seem OK but there's a loud buzz when I touch the pole pieces of the front pickup, which makes me think this isn't earthed. This doesn't happen with the back pickup, so it would appear that one is earthed.

 

Does anyone know if this normal for this bass?

I’d post this in the Repairs & Technical forum - the folk that frequent it are likely to offer some solutions and it’s more likely to get noticed and addressed there.

sorry mate but I was being genuine, I do a lot of fishing and I've caught all types mate, bream, roach, trout, pike, carp, but never seen a rumble never heard of it

The Rumblefish was an earlier model which was semi-hollow. I'm not sure whether we got it here in't UK.

There are some in the UK. Used to own one and IIRC the person I sold it to was also in the UK.

ah thanks for the photo that makes a lot more sense than what I was thinking, interesting design though!
