For anyone interested, the hip shot detuner has now been removed and replaced with the original 70s Fender stamped machine head!

Hi Dan - I'm really interested in your Fender Jazz. I've been looking for an early '70s Jazz in Olympic White with a maple neck / fingerboard ever since I didn't pull the trigger on one at the Bass Gallery just before lock-down.

A few questions - do you have any history on the bass? What did the Gallery tell you when you purchased it? How is the truss rod - all good? Tuners nice and smooth, pots all good - no crackling? Bridge looks original, right? Is a case included? Is the bass in need of a set-up or all good? Finally, how's the weight.

Thanks, in advance. last question - I really appreciate the detailed photos you've listed, but could you please share a couple of 'full height' pics of the bass, front and back - ie: showing the whole guitar head-on.

Thank you!

Thanks for the interest! All I know is what they told me regarding the refinish, other than that, I don’t know anymore unfortunately!

Truss rod turns both ways and works as it should.

Tuners smooth, pots all good, no crackling.

Bridge is original.

The bass is setup with nice low action and Elixir 45-100 nickel strings.

Weight comes in between 4.2 and 4.3kg on my luggage scales.

I’ll take a couple more photos later today.

Hope that helps!

Thanks

Thanks for the extra info and pics -much appreciated.

I think I remember the listing of this bass on The Gallery website; they suggest a ‘72 neck on a ‘69 body, I believe - interesting!

Not that I’d need one, but is a case included / better price without? Let me think about it… and thanks again for the extra info 👍🏻
