I built the FuzzDog clone...which makes me as bad as Behringer, I guess.

Down with me !!! Boo ! Hiss !

;) :)

Not wanting to derail this thread too much, so happy to take this to messages if necessary.

How do you find the Fuzzdog?

Good sound?

Little extra noise?

Was the build relatively self explanatory?

As there is a huge pre-order period for these beringhers I am tempted I go down the self build route

Had an email from PMT saying they’ve not received stock in time for their estimated delivery (when I ordered) of 21st Feb and no update from supplier.  I tried to ask Behringer but the Music Tribe customer nonsense is impregnable.

I ordered mi e from Andertons on 16 December and it came in mid January.

I haven't ssid how I've found it.

It's got two slide switches that give three rich, distictive fuzz sounds and one relatively weedy fuzz. The use of ring modulation gives an 'octave fuzz' feel.

The twin effect and clean levels workk like blend but better. The sensitivity control works.

You can use it to get a Hysteria type clean doubled with fuzz effect, or crank things to get a big clanky distortion  effect.

Sounds good!

Any sign of funny whines or hums or the like?

I've had cheap pedals before where there are odd sounds.

I think I'm going to do the preorder for 59quid amyway

I like it, sounds a bit retro. More punchy than my tube screamer clone.

No nasty noises on battery or run ftom my psu.

In the end I found I didn't care too much for the sound of the unit. Nothing at all wrong with the kit - it's FuzzDog's usual quality stuff - just found it not my thing.

It's on my mental list to go back and tweak a bit, but that list is long and my time short !

Just got mine! Got lucky with one for sale on here. It's an excellent Brassmaster, a touch smoother than the homemade clones I already own, which are a bit more spluttery and unpredictable. That said it's still a wild roaring beast! I'm very pleased indeed.

hey Cosmo,

so… I’ve owned a germanium Malekko b:Assmaster and sold it stupidly, then bought the standard silicone Malekko b:Assmaster and sold that too. I thought the silicone was harsher and more aggressive/spluttery than the germanium version which was smoother and warmer. I regret selling it.

i see you also have the latent lemon version… I was thinking about getting their green germanium version. What’s your opinion of the latent lemon ones compared to the Malekko? They’re Easier to get, or should I wait to find a Malekko on sale?

And then the big question… has behringer nailed it with their new version ? Is it as good as the malekko/latent lemon?

I can't help you I'm afraid, I only have the Behringer and some homemade clones.

Ah ok thanks… if anyone else can compare the behringer to the latent lemon or Malekko I’d love to hear opinions.
