mikeycrikey Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 (edited) Fender Crafted in Japan Precision. If your looking for a spotless case queen then dont look here. This bass has a ton of genuine road worn Mojo. It was originally Olympic White but its more yellow now. It has been fitted with an Fender American Vintage Pickup. Reverse tuners Kiogon Wiring Loom. It sounds exactly how you want a Precision to sound. The wiring loom and vintage pickup up give such a great range of Tones. Slim glossed neck which is also quite shallow and the reason I am moving this on as I prefer the chunkier neck on the Vintera Precisions. I have used this a lot and it never fails to get compliments and just sits great in the mix. Serial Number indicates it was made in Japan in 1993 -1994. The BAD part. A previous owner has routed out a Humbucker size cavity in the body. It may of contributed to making this a nice lightweight bass for a Precision. Collection from Huyton Liverpool or possible meet up in the Northwest. Postage may be possible if I can source a suitable box for shipping. Edited April 11, 2024 by mikeycrikey Sold 13
mikeycrikey Posted April 5, 2024 Author Posted April 5, 2024 I think.he used a spoon to to remove the wood for a Humbucker 1
bigthumb Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 (edited) This was my old bass and I'd love to have it back but I'd need to shift some gear first to raise the funds. Anyhow. I have a long history of having really great basses, and then selling them and this being one of them. I bought it off eBay. It looked fab with the off white body, heavy road worn look and glossy maple neck. I was however disappointed with the bloody awful pickup routing and as it was not disclosed by the seller, I did get some refund. With this I bought the Kiogon loom and vintage pickups. Fitted a Fender '62 tort guard and later fitted the reverse tuners for the authentic look. This made the bass a whole lot better in looks and sound. I remember having flatwounds on and it sounded awesome. I probably sold it to the OP to recoup some funds as I'd seriously upgraded my amp rig at the time and it bust the bank! As I previously mentioned, I'd love to have it back but my wallet is empty at the moment. Don't miss out! Edited April 5, 2024 by bigthumb
pete.young Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Much mojo. Not that it matters a great deal, but a 'Crafted In Japan' serial number with O + 6 digits is 1997-2000 according to Fender: https://support.fender.com/en-us/knowledgebase/article/KA-01874

I realise now I looked on a site that said made in Japan rather than crafted in Japan
Grezza 1 Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Even with the brutal ‘war wound’ she’s a stunner! 😘 1
