Never more than one pint until the last song is over. If i make a mistake, and there are many, i laugh at myself rather than frown. Looks better and i get over it faster. I always take a backup bass cables and amp. Hardly ever need them but you never know!

This is gonna be me in a month from now - last gig was Dec 2002. On august 12th 2023 I’ll step back on the stage.

You’re bound to be nervous, but I always found that only lasted until the first bar of the first track. Nail it and you’re on your way. Before you know it, it’s time to unplug and get off stage again!

Good luck - we’ll see you in the ‘how was your gig last night?’ thread!

Always wear something cool and memorable. You're The Band, not a bunch of scruffy punters! Though if you're rubbish standing out makes it easier for disgruntled audience members to find you...

Well, thanks for all your support, folks.  It went pretty well; I made a couple of errors but no howlers, the punters seemed to enjoy it and we had a lot of fun.  We got another booking out of it, so it can't have been that bad!  Apparently there are some decent picture floating around, so I'll post one when they land.  As it is, here's us before we went on, looking proper special:

Too late to offer any advice but glad it all went well for you guys.

Pretty decent gear too. Nice bass rig.

Dont forget to add your gig comment to the How Was Your Gig Last Night thread when you get a gig pic or vid.

Did a nice paying dep five years ago after not playing for nearly fifteen years! My goodness I remember the first rehearsal, what a wake up call, as they were a very good 60's tribute unit with stunning harmonies etc and very good musicianship. Biggest downer was the volume....my poor ole ears were telling me enough is enough.
