I sold my Series II in the mid '90s, just when I started really getting into  Jazz basses. The Status had been with me since '86 and suddenly, one day, I fell out of love with it and sold it to a guy in a guitar shop who was desperate for it. About a year later, he offered to sell it back to me but I declined. It wasn't until the early/mid 2000's that I began hankering after it again. After much seeking, I found it on Statii. I remember contacting the owner, asking him  if he'd consider selling it, and he pretty much said 'no chance'. C'est la vie.

Yeah, I think he had one the 30th Anniversary basses as I recall. A really nice example too.

I visited his flat i think it must have been 15 odd years ago & he had a huge Status collection back then lol he'd just received his first Jaydee, a star child.

There is an update on the Status site....

"We would like to thank everyone for the incredible response
to our 40th Anniversary and Limited Edition 2000 basses.

It may take a while to get all the basses allocated but I expect
to be able to contact everyone later today or first thing tomorrow."
