Wombat Posted August 30, 2022 Share Posted August 30, 2022 My thumb/nail has rubbed the finish off where I rest it on the pickup (note to self - cut your nails more often! 🙄). Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 30, 2022 Share Posted August 30, 2022 (edited) Â I did a superglue drop fill on the side of an acoustic guitar where the finish had chipped off to expose a small area of bare wood. After scraping the filled-in area flat with a single edged razor blade and sanding/pollishing it, the repair was invisible. Wombat Posted August 31, 2022 Author Share Posted August 31, 2022 Thanks peeps, I’ll have a look.  I’d love to not rest my thumb there but find modifying my technique (if that’s an actual thing!) too hard. franzbassist Posted September 15, 2022 Share Posted September 15, 2022 I'd just leave it - it's mojo!. Trying to repair it might make it more obvious, plus it's likely to keep recurring if that's how you play.  Random question but how long is your thumbnail? Could you keep it shorter?
