I do take slight umbrage at the comment about his patches being “night and day” compared to the stock ones, but I’m not trying to make money off my patches, I’ve shared them for free so don’t have to try and persuade people to buy “better” stuff. In fact, I do wonder if a few might just be mine anyway or slightly tweaked versions. Quote

Well, what do you know, he removed my comment linking to the free patches that I’ve shared within the community via the Panda official cloud site. I wonder why…🤔 He also removed my comment thanking him for showcasing the pedal and linking to the Facebook group I set up.🤷🏻 Edited Friday at 17:43 by Quatschmacher 1 1 Quote

I regret sharing the video in the first place if this person is only interested in selling their preset pack. Edited Friday at 22:10 by HoorayForAnonyms Quote

Al Krow Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Looking forward to finding out more! What is the arpeggiator like on F1-4. Any clips? It's one of the features that's keeping me tied to the SY-200 currently Quote

Al Krow Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Ah ok, thanks. Looks like my Boss SY-200 is gonna survive for a while yet on my little gigging board. Quote

LawrenceH Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago What about FM, is that at all feasible? Especially a 6-operator setup which mimicked those iconic Yamaha algorithms would give access to a very different sonic palette, some very handy bass patches in there. (not to mention that unique 'gong' Synclavier patch at the start of Thriller). Quote
Al Krow Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 11 minutes ago, Quatschmacher said: I didn’t doubt it for a second. Well the: - better display; - arpeggiator (which we use on a couple of our cover tracks as @Kiwihas also mentioned); plus historically: - MUCH better "tracking" / lack of glitchiness; - more compact form factor Are usps that have made the SY-200 much more useful for me as a gigging musician. Sure YMMV etc. Given that FI are now saying the tracking is much improved on v4 and are offering a more compact form factor, the very significantly better synth tones the FI offers, make it a very attractive proposition. But for some reason I thought it now also had an arpeggiator function given that it does so much else, but my bad for misunderstanding that. The SY-200 is the only programmable bass synth pedal with arpeggiator I'm aware of (unless the C4 also provides this)? 1 Quote

The other partition could be more effects or a sample-based engine. Edited 2 hours ago by Quatschmacher Quote

Kiwi Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 13 minutes ago, Al Krow said: The SY-200 is the only programmable bass synth pedal with arpeggiator I'm aware of (unless the C4 also provides this)? No the C4 doesn't provide it as a feature and I reached out to suggest it to them. As QM says, it can be triggered from MIDI but so can the FI AFAIK. The SA dev team discussed an arp and thought it was a good idea but the pedal didn't have room for the code, so it's been relegated into development hell I guess. I'm half tempted to reach out to Mooer over here and see if their dev team might like to have a go at it. Quote

AinsleyWalker Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Apologies if this has been answered before, it's difficult to dig up answers in this thread due to the size. Planning to get a Morningstar controller of some kind (MC3 or 6) to help navigate through patches, etc. I'm running firmware v3.6 on the OG model. I'd like to program the MIDI controller to select specific patches via 'Program Change'. I'm new to MIDI controllers, I get the concept of sending a CC value to change banks (CC90 and CC91 respectively for the F.I.) but I'm not sure how to approach the first few options that have names rather than CC values. The user interface for the Morningstar seems to have a box where you type the CC value, would you simply type the CC name here instead? Thanks! Edited 1 hour ago by AinsleyWalker Quote
