No no no! Those woods clash! And as that for that red bucket chair, darling, well really ...

😂😂😂

It used to be in my missus' salon and I'm now going to use it to intimidate vocalists when they're listening to their mixes. I can't take someone seriously who's sitting in a red chair like that.

I have a friend who needs to convert a garage to give music lessons. There will be no drums so there is no need for super soundproofing. Can I share a plan and ask for advice?

I think that if he is converting a garage into something that becomes part of his house, the work will need to meet current building regulations. Coud be wrong but worth getting this checked out.

Wonder if he's still going. Those gardens look awfully close together. Was it a success?....Noise issues? Curious.

Still going strong mate. No noise issues whatsoever. Still trying to get a drum kit in there but have resigned myself to the fact an electronic drum kit is the only viable option.

I'm a drummer; my move to an e-kit was a really smart choice, a couple of years ago now. The Thomann 'MPS Millennium 850' is a ridiculous bargain, and plays very much like an acoustic kit (unless you want brushes...). Mine is coupled to a laptop, running Superior Drummer 3, but even the built-in kits sound great. To be able to play almost any style, change drums and cymbals easily, mix any elements into a manageable sound, and record it all with virtual mics, is a game-changer. I've no regrets (although I still have the acoustic option if I so desire...). Just sayin'. :friends:

The Topic That Wouldn't Die  ...

I had forgotten this exhaustive build diary, I’m genuinely delighted that it’s been revived.

oh and COYI - we’ve won a European trophy during the gap in this topic. Probably won’t be able to say that again in my lifetime.
