Really good music shop in the south?

GAK in Brighton are always pretty well stocked. The other one that has varying levels of kit is Dawson's. I'd never buy anything from them as they're pretty expensive.

BTW I've used bob at Kingfisher many times to service and work on my basses. He's a really nice guy and I highly recommend him.

Thats good to know about Kingfishers.

They always seem to carry Fenders and I seem to remember him having a 51 P bass in stock.
I've never heard of them but will go and look them up now. Thanks
New shop opened last year in Storrington, nice friendly guys with some interesting stock. Went in there last year and they had a 51P in stock, may be gone by now.

Interesting. Another place to wander through.

Their website shows 5 Fenders

Otherwise GAK have a lot of Fenders, or did last time I was in

+1 on the Peter Cook's.

Don't be put off when you walk in and see only about 15 gtrs and 2 basses on the wall. They've got hundreds stashed next door.

Check their site and call first to make sure they've got what you want in stock. Good guys and open to a modest haggle last time I was there

...and check out guitar village in Farnham - it's very near you and it's effing colossal with lots of stonking basses - http://www.guitarvillage.co.uk
