Almost bought it a few months back, but Fernandes is the last name of my (ex) best friend, that betrayed me 2 years ago. I can't have a bass with his name on it, I would throw it out the window. Could've been worse. His name could've been Smith. 😉 1 Quote

There was a BO-60 for sale in Japan a while back (about three times the price I paid for this) and it didn't look anything like as well finished or substantial. Hard to say anything conclusive from photos I know, but this baby looks like a tank in photos, and looks and feels like a tank in the flesh Quote

I just did a search to see if anyone had identified it and hit this thread. Just been watching and got this far: Sunburst 5 string bass Maple fretboard & neck Chrome hardware Stingray-looking headstock, 4+1 with a downwards point No scratchplate (hurrah!) P (neck) and reverse P (bridge) pickups Controls are three in a horizontal straight line, with three in an arc below them - my guess is V/B/T (treble cut) on the top, bass/mid/treble on the bottom I would guess at Sadowsky as that's their headstock shape and they do custom FSOs, generally avoiding the cheap look of scratchplates, although their controls tend to be in a J-sloping straight line. Bassassin Posted yesterday at 00:42 Posted yesterday at 00:42 (edited) Holy NecroThread, Batman! And an opportune moment to mention that I have spent the last 5-odd years kicking myself for not buying that Fernandes P/P when I had what was undoubtedly the only chance of my life. And I bloody knew I would be... Edited yesterday at 00:43 by Bassassin Quote
tauzero Posted yesterday at 03:23 Posted yesterday at 03:23 It was a bit of a dilemma - resurrect an unrelated thread or start another one. And seeing as my build diaries thread on the BC 8" cab has been utterly and totally hijacked, I thought I'd get my own back. 1 Quote

The thing with so many unique basses I suspect is that it's the uniqueness that draws us. Yes, it was very very nice bass, beautifully designed and engineered, and with some lovely tonal options. But for me, doing relatively bog standard gigs in bog standard venues, pretty any precision with a decent PUP, a stable neck, and adequate bridge and tuners, does the job. I've loved playing and owning many unique basses, but i wanted them way more than I needed them, something that at last I appear to have worked out of my system Quote
