WoodandTronics now have a dedicated web-site WTbasses for there own guitars. They've got some funky ideas, like the front control cover cut from exotic timber, magnets holding the rear control cover on, etc. Also they offer interesting tried and tested pickup/circuit combination. Enrico is loaning me a 33" 5-string for me to review, so I'll be posting a detailed assessment in a few months time. Thats's gonna feel odd after my 36" Progress Bass!

Cheers

Guys work near my city.
their basses have a "Guitar_like action" ,really awesome .

Remarkable instruments , out of my price range.
They are new on the market, but were building basses from long time i guess.

I heard them,but did'nt try personally.

Personal taste about shapes:
Interesting the single cut With a "double cut_like"shape , still not the best for me, but
miles better from the "classic"singlecut .
They offer also a "classic Foderish _1_version" singlecut , which i Don like.

I went lucky to buy an Aries 6 string (croatian liuther) for a resonable price,i'll look further on the "used"market to try a WoodandTronics one,
When they will be.
I need always some time to comment a bass_tone.

!!
Expecially the 33" scale Is an interesting thing to test ,i never tried one,i wonder about the lowB (if is B5er or 6er) and the "tension"of the lowb itself

??How you knew the guy th. he loans to you the bass?? Very kind from Him.

Regards ,alex

Don't luthiers/manufacturers normally go to great lengths to screen cavities from the pup magnets... so someone starts fitting magnets to hold screened cavity covers on :)

Noise problems are caused by moving/changing Electric/Magnetic fields, such as mains hum, and switching noise from lighting etc. A static field from a fixed magnet should not cause a problem.

Being a luthier myself, I have bought bits and pieces from him. He has also seen pics of my recent jazz style build (ZappBass for our very own BWer, Zzzapp) and he liked what he saw. Apart from getting comments from users, I guess he wants constructive comments from a builder. I wasn't gonna pass up his offer. I'm keen to see how the 33" scale performs on a 5-string - especially if the action is set low. Can't wait! I'm only having it for a week, so better make sure I have some gigs that week!

My Shuker 6er is a 33" and the low B is fine, you'll also notice a sweetness to the higher strings too.

Looking forward to hear how you get on with the bass, the WoodandTronics guys make some gorgeous instrument, I especially like the Koa topped 6 string they made recently!

Cheers,
Eude
