thebassist Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 I wonder if it has a fan built into it? If it doesn't, it'll definitely be one to add to the list to test. Quote
chris_b Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 At 1200 watts it will have a fan. I would put money on it being as silent as a fan could be. Jim Bergantino "road tests" al his gear before it is launched and a noisy fan would be picked up pretty quickly. Again at 1200 watts I would imagine this amp isn't intended to be played at home. Fan noise on a gig isn't an issue. 1 Quote
thebassist Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 I know the new Epifani UL901 isn't as powerful (1000 watts as opposed to 1200 watts) but that doesn't have a fan so I hope it's possible that the FortƩ HP might not have a fan. I like to use the same amplifier at home and at events so no fan is something important for me. Quote
three Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 I too use a Bamp and it runs almost silently - I've not noticed any fan noise whatsoever (the DB750 on which the Bamp sits is another story entirely). Ā As indicated above, I'm pretty sure that JB would pick-up on, and eliminate,Ā any noise issues very quickly. Ā The new Forte HP may not have some of the versatility of the Bamp but in terms ofĀ pure slam, if that's what you need, it's probably a very good option Quote
