Date my body

Now there's an offer you don't get every day...

As far as I know, this is a USA Fender P bass body from either late 70s or early 80s. I don't have any original pots, pickguard or hardware to help identify - just the neck pocket photos.

Any ideas? Unfortunately the stamps are a little hard to read, but perhaps someone who knows the scheme might make more sense of it than I can...

if its late 70's / early 80's have you checked for a serial number sticker under the pickguard, or for the date of the pots, if original?

Edit, just re-read the middle line!!

I'd be scouring Google images / Gbase / Andy Baxter website if i were you.

Wow - your eyesight's better than mine - that would tie in with what I was told by the person I got the body from (who bought the bass new). It was that 7 that was foxing me - plus also not knowing what format the stamp was supposed to be in to allow me to fill in the gaps.

Huh? Are you speculating on the name stamp? I reckon it reads P. A??RFA

Me?  No sorry I was responding to "Date my body" with "A/S/L?" (age, sex, location).

I need to do something to keep myself amused in the office!  Good luck with your thing.  I'll stop messing about and get back to work.

*looks busy*
