Absolutely bloody ridiculous price there.
It is - but it was £600 two months ago!

He knocked the price down a couple of times & will probably do the same this time around - it's cheapo parts-box bolt-neck Chinese crap with a bullsh!t-powered description, so he'll likely still be in profit when it reaches £200.

Nice Shafty, I'm pretty sure my Fireglo Frankenbugger was one of these in a previous life.

I picked up one of these when Wesley were banging them out for £99 - they're really surprisingly well put together, the flame is real, as is the wood edge-binding. They really only bear the most superficial resemblance to a Rick - apart from the body shape everything else is a generic modern neck-through bass.

Still quite nice though, mine's presently in bits awaiting having the back/neck refinished - I played one gig with it & half the thin black paint on the back just rubbed off!
Is that any think like the Cort ones??

Seen a new Cort in a shop very like that but in white and black binding.
Interesting - haven't seen a Cort faker before. Got a link?

The photo of the "modern one" doesn't do it for me. Which I find strange as I really liked the "Wesley" posted here some moons ago, and Jon's photos of his in-progress one. Perhaps it's the camera angle or photo that makes it look different to me.

If I can be even more disagreeable, the Cort doesn't do it for me either. I don't mind the Rick-ish Crafter, in fact think it looks nice. But the Cort, not quite.
Definitely a strong stylistic influence going on there - I do like the red quilty one. There's a Schecter as well with a similar close-but-legal look, can't remember what it's called though.

That one looks like a real beauty and I wish I had a 1965 Jaguar like the one hangin in the picture :)

Maybe you should make him an offer!

Fella should definitely sell the Ricky handrest separately - that way he could knock £50 off the start price... :o

As I've said before - gorgeous example.

That is a variation indeed. That's the sort of thing that one day, someday, I hope will come up near me. An interesting thing with a low start bid so that (if the seller agrees) I could pop round and try out. Though not a fretless. (Yet?)

Pretty sure I remember seeing that a few weeks back - not sure if this is a re-list after being pulled or the next buyer moving it on.

I'm guessing it doesn't work, he claims he
have not amp to check that this bass works
but I don't know if there's a particular mystical reason why he couldn't plug it into this:

Oh - but there's me trying to be rational and forgetting this is Ebay. Ebay! Stupid me. :)

I will make one six-string comment, then return to being on-topic :)

I've heard that the Tanglewood Ricky copies such as the TW68 John Lennon model, are reasonable guitars, and they go for a lot less than other models on ebay. They come up occasionally.

Here's one that sold recently, and went for £202 + p&p. I think I remember some selling for cheaper, maybe £160 or so.
