I always liked Head For Backstage Pass by Jeff Beck. Really underrated song. Wilbur Bascomb on bass.....very cool.

also

Do you know Squarepusher? by Squarepusher.......IDM...you got to love it.

finally Reza/Giant Steps/Reza (Reprise) by mr Pastorius himself from the Invitation album. SOme awesome moments on that album especially his furiously chainsaw-like fuzz at the end where he has a few licks then plays the folk kind of riff with the entire band....absolutelly breathtaking.

Quite a few things off the Californication album - Easily, Around The World and Emit Remmus. And from Mother's Milk - Good Time Boys, Nobody Weird Like Me, Stone Cold Bush and Johnny Kick A Hole In The Sky. Easily (groan) RHCP's 2 best album's - yes, both better than BSSM.
Dude, who are the vids of? Forgive my ignorance! Love the first one, really inspiring and humbling. EDIT : Dwayne (DW) Wright?

And I completely agree about Alien3, it's a great film. Deep treatise on social alienation, bit like Lord of the Flies for grown ups. It's a subtle file that took me three times of watching to get past my expectations of Aliens the sequel.
The first is Dwayne Wright, and the second is Maurice Fitzgerald.

And thats another person to the list :)

Liquid tension experiment - Biaxident.

The most uplifting piece ever for me. Fluid melodic interweaving lines from Petrucci and Rudess on guitar and keyboards respectively, Tony levin holding it down on the bass front with a fretless and Portnoy covering the drums. Superb melody line and it builds to a great crescendo finish. Awesome instrumental track, I must go and give it a spin ....
