Beedster Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 (edited) Lovely little thing, and whilst a little runt-ish, is ludicrously good at what it does. I bought it to keep in my office for when I fancy some lunchtime EUB action, but somewhat bizarrely in doing overlooked the fact that we have a little used anechoic chamber downstairs where I can practice with something bigger. I'm therefore ideally looking for a PX for something bigger but still portable e.g., Markbass/PJB. The Micromark's not really a giggable amp despite what others have said (OK, it might work in 'reinforcing' a DB or acoustic bass), but it is absolutely perfect for the living room or office. Will quite literally fit in a desk drawer and can be carried in a small rucksack Edited June 30, 2014 by Beedster
Evil Undead Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I've been wanting one of these for ages, and on the rare occasion one comes up - I've just had to pay a hossing great vet bill. B*****ks!

Kevin Dean Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 What's it like for D tuned stuff ? I tune D G C F.

Kev Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I have this ones slightly bigger brother the 801 and it is fantastic, I love it!
Beedster Posted April 14, 2014 Author Posted April 14, 2014 Thanks Kev, I'd only really used this with DB and EUB until last night when I used it with an electric bass and, bloody hell, it's LOUD, unbelievable given its size. OK, it ain't Ampeg SVT + 8x10 loud, but given it's the size of a gnat's scrotum, it's pretty bloody amazing.
Beedster Posted June 27, 2014 Author Posted June 27, 2014 Thanks Martin, this never sold and in the meantime I've decided to let go of my PJB rig and this little thing and opt for something in the middle size-wise, an AER. Worth mentioning that - perhaps surprisingly - this is plenty loud enough for rehearsing with a quiet drummer and a few casual musos. It's got a lovely middy punch that really does cut through. Probably not the rig for dub.
