The story I always tell, I was a noob on here and he was selling the SX pictured about I had expressed an interest but I didn't have the money as I'd just started a new job, he said no problem, we met up, he gave me the bass and told me to pay him when I had it (which I did), he also let me play on his Shuker which was amazing, I left with a bass and a smile.

Wayne,
This is a really great tribute to Si and props to you for getting it up and running.

I met Oldgit at a Northampton (National?) BassBash a good few years ago now and he was a nice fella, even to a noob like myself :)
His contributions were legendary and the band website help thread he put up is a goldmine of info for someone not versed in such things, again like myself!

Cheers,
Jon

Basschat has lost its soul. Si was a good lad, now we just have a load of talking heads. Good work Wayne.

Si wasn't unique on this website. While he was everything that's been said there are others who are just as kind, helpful etc.
