Hi Guys,

Up for sale (possibly trade) here is my ACG Finn SC Classic 4 strings. Its the 37th Bass made by Alan and the 1st of this particular kind. It's simply an amazingly well crafted and beautiful bass with bags of tonal possibilities and looks to die for. The bass is in perfect mint condition, I did go over it very carefully and I cannot see a single blemish anywhere on it anywhere, not even a hint of buckle rash... there are no marking at all on this! It may as well be new.

It is a Custom spec level ACG bass, it's a 4 string 34" scale bass with a 5 piece body made from stripy ebony/sycamore/wenge/sycamore/stripy ebony. The neck is a 7 piece made from mac ebony/sycamore/wenge/sycamore/wenge/sycamore/mac ebony. The fret board is perfect and plays beautifully, its an acryilic impregnated flame sycamore board with mac ebony binding.

The pickups are 2 ACG RFB pickups with an ACG EQ01 pre-amp, this combination gives you amazing tonal possibilities, the ACG pre-amps are known for their tonal range, with the ability to tweak and expand certain frequencies to basically give you what ever sound and vibe you want.

The tuners are Hipshot ultralite with a hipshot D-tuner fitted on the E string, though I will be including the original tuner so you can remove it if you want. The bridge is a Hipshot A type bridge, high mass and very solid. The bass is finished with an oil rub giving it a beautiful sheen.

The bass comes with a custom fitted Hiscocks hardcase, again in mint condition and made specifically for this bass. There are the 2 locking keys in the case as well as the original tuner and also a set of Jim Dunlop strap locks. All in all this is a mint condition ACG custom bass with all the trimmings for sale at a fraction of the cost of a new one, with no wait and an amazing combination of beautiful woods.

I'm selling this purely because I took it in trade, and as much as I love ACG's, I play 7 string bass and a 4 string just isn't enough for me! So it's on offer here to you guys. I'm on 07912222127so call if you have any questions at all, and I'm based in Wickford in Essex, viewing is welcome and collection is preferred though I can post if needed.

TRADE DETAILS:

The sale is set a £900 cash for the bass, the case, the strap locks and the additional tuner. I want to get at least £400 cash from this bass, so if you want to trade I'd want cash, plus a bass worth £500 at least. I'm open to options, so let me know what you got!

The photos below are a combination of ACG stock photos, and ones I took this morning. The ones with the black background are stock, the rest are my photos from today!

Russ.

I absolutely adore this bass, I always have.
If it were a 33" scale I would have your arm off at this price. I've played nothing but 33" for so long now that I don't really feel comfortable with anything else.
Good luck with the sale mate.

Well 34" is only 3% longer than 33"! Will you actually fell the difference? I struggle to... but that just me! Tis an awesome bass mate... you know you want it! :)

You would think it, but I actually can feel the difference, chord shapes and faster playing on longer scales really take their toll on me, it took me a while to work out what the problem was, but 33" scale just fits perfectly. Played nothing but it since 2006, so I'm sticking with it :)

I acquired a Harlot single cut at the weekend - great bass - Alan puts together some great basses and the pre-amp/pick ups are as good as anything I've tried - including the Wal custom I owned...

These are not just fancy bits of wood glued together.....and this is so well priced...

Good luck with the sale Russ

I tell you what, you're dead right! I'm in no epic rish to sell as this bass is simply stunning, looks and sounds outstanding.

I'm not a 4 string player, but I am tempted to keep it... ;)

Currently still seeking cash plus trade or just cash offers... fresh strings, fresh batteries, fitted hiscocks case, strap locks, D-tuners, mint condition... What's not to like!

Not sure if this qulifies as a daft question or not, but do the ACG SCs in general have the asymmetric neck carve?
All ACGs have that carve, unless the customer wants something a bit more traditional feeling.

It's a bit of a way to come for a cuppa; can you not relocate to the NW Russ? It's really very nice up here, we have flat beer, pies, whippets, cobbles and all the other regional stereotypes.

Well, if you wanted the bass, then I'm sure I could arrange something... :) I have a habit of driving stupid distances to ensure a smooth deal is had... If you're a buyer, then I could deliver in person for petrol costs. (Up to a max of 250 miles each way)
