RIP Chi. Deftones have recorded the last album (may be even 2 already) with another bass player, but Chi still was part of the band. I am sure he will be missed.

He didn't play on the last 2 records... however he did play on an album called 'Eros' which the band recorded just before the accident. The band decided to hold off releasing it until Chi was better and recorded a new album with a different bass player instead. Hopefully Chi's last record with the Deftones will now be released sometime in the not too distant future as a tribute to him.

Very sad to hear this, seem him live a couple of times and also seen them with Sergio a couple of times too. A superb band and Chi's lines were a big part of that in their early life.

I picked up on them with Around The Fur, which would have been 1997 or thereabouts. My Own Summer especially, but the whole album captured a lot of growing up as a young teenager, in some way.

Important part of my life in that album, that band -and Cheng was a big part of that.

As I said on Twitter, very sad.
