Electro Acoustic

Hi Guys,
Just wondered if anyone has any tips on buying an electro acoustic to practice on, maybe around a couple of hundred quid, probably second hand. Was considering Crafter (allways seems popular), Takamine, Fender etc.
Play Jazz Basses most of the time. looking for something with a relatively good sound.
Any advice much appreciated.

I've got a Crafter Electro acoustic - nice bass, but don't think it will compete with the acoustic 6 stringers that your mates will be playing...acoustic basses are notoriously quiet...

But this bass does sound great through an amp, and plays very well - as I currently have it on loan.

+1 - I've got the 5 string version. Have had it for approx. 3 years, and do all my practice on it. I've done a couple of open mics and a gig with it, and it sounds good amplified through a PA.

Absolutely this.
And if you do amp it up, get a soundhole plug to reduce feedback.
And then there's the issue with getting a case or bag for the thing.
Sold my Ovation last week for all of these reasons. It was in perfect condition after 15 years' ownership. I think that says something. So does the fact that I'm not missing it at all.
