This great little number is now in our set, I have no problems playing it, but any ideas on how to achieve the sound?

I play a Fender American Standard Precision bass through a Genz Benz Streamliner 9.0 and Barefaced Super Twelve.

Leon Wilkeson didn't play bass on 'Pronounced...' - he left before recording and re-joined stright after. One of the guitarists covered the bass parts for the album.
What help that is to the OP I have no idea. :)

That whole album has a fantastic bass tone. I always assumed it was a Gibson, not sure where I got that idea though.

This. Skynyrd aren't really a band I've ever focused on trying to emulate the bass sound too much. I think it's just a good rock sound with a great groove. Plus if you're doing the whole 2 to 3 guitar thing the challenge will just be to get a nice sound that can be heard in the mix.

It's also very likely that Ed King was playing bass on the recorded version.
